8 Getting Started Home Button T ap this button fr om anywhere on your Sero t o return to the Home screen. If you ’r e viewing a left or right Home screen, this will open the central Home screen. Battery The Sero 7 has an internal Lithium-ion P olymer rechargeable battery. 10 Making Connections Micro-USB Y ou can use the included Micro-USB cable to connect the Sero 7’ s Micro-USB por t to your computer’ s USB port. T o change your Sero 7’ s USB connection options, go to Settings > Device > Storage > Menu icon > USB computer connection , or open the Notication T ray , tap the USB icon.
11 Making Connections Micro SD Inser t the microSD card contacts facing down into the Sero 7’ s M icro SD port. T o check the storage of microSD card, go to Settings > Device > Storage . NO TES • Y ou can use micr oSD TM card and microSDHC TM c ard.
12 Making Connections Add a Wi-F i Network Y ou can add a Wi-F i network so your device will remember it, along with any security credentials, and connect to it automatically when it’ s in range. Y ou must also add a Wi-F i network if the network does not broadcast its name (SSID ), or to add a Wi-F i network when you are out of range.
13 Making Connections VPN Virtual private net works ( VPNs) allow you to connect to the resources inside a secured local network, from outside that network. VPNs are commonly deplo yed by corporations, schools, and other institutions to let people access local network resources when not on campus, or when connected t o a wireless network.

Setup Guide T urning Y our Sero 7 On for the First Time T o star t, turn on your Sero 7 by pressing and holding P ower button for a f ew seconds. After boot animation follow the on-scr een instructions to set up your Sero 7.
15 Basics Zoom Place two ngers about an inch apart on the screen. Slide them together to “Zoom out“ . Slide your ngers apart to “Zoom in“ . Rotate Place two ngers about an inch apart on the screen. Rotate them in clockwise or anti-clock wise.
16 Basics F rom the Download app: T ap an item t o open it. T ap headings f or earlier downloads to view them. Check items you want to share. Then tap the Share icon and choose a sharing method from the list. Check items you want to delete . Then tap the T rash icon .
17 Basics Entering T ext Enter text: T ap a text eld to bring up the keyboard, then tap keys on the keyboard. The letter isn ’t entered until you r elease your nger from the key . Delete text: T ap to delete selected text or the characters before the cursor .

19 Basics Dismiss Cards When you ’re nished with a car d, just slide it left or right to dismiss it from the Google Now screen. NO TE The card appears again when a new update is av ailable. Adjust Notications When a card has a new update, y ou’ll receive a notication at the bott om of your screen.

21 Basics When you ’re viewing the Google Now scr een, you don ’t have to touch an ything. Just say “G oogle. ” NO TE T o detect when you say “Google ” to launch Voic e Search or Voice A ctions, Google analyzes sound picked up by your Sero 7’ s microphone in intervals of a few seconds or less.

F or some accounts, syncing is two-way ; changes that you make to the information on your Sero 7 ar e made to the copy of that information on the web .

W almar t The Walmart app helps you find and buy quality products at unbeatable prices whether you’ re at home, in their stores or an ywhere in between. 28 Featured Apps Home Page Y ou can bro wse the products, view your messages, access the instant savings , use scanner and search tool from Home page. Tips: These options can be found in menu . 30 Apps Apps Introducing the common Apps of Sero 7. Galler y Galler y is used to view pictures and play videos that you’ve taken, downloaded, or copied . Y ou can per form basic editing tasks on pictures and set them as your wallpaper or contact photo.

34 Apps Flowing T ext & Original Pages Books are available in two viewing modes. In Flo wing text mode, the text of the book is wrapped according to Sero 7’ s screen size, which allows y ou to read most books clearly even on a screen that is smaller than the original physical book.
35 Apps • T o remove a highlight you’v e made - T ap on the highlight and tap the icon. • T o add a note to text in your book - Select the text and tap the icon, enter your note, then tap the icon to go back. Y our annotated text will appear highlighted in the color last used, with a note icon on the far right side of the page.
36 Apps T V Shows - Under the T V Shows tab you’ll see sections for the shows y ou’ve pur chased, as well as suggested shows that may be of inter est. Personal V ideos - T his section will display the videos you create using the camera on Sero 7, as well as any videos that you copy ov er to your tablet via a Micro-USB cable.
37 Apps Gmail When you set up your Sero 7 with a Gmail account, the Gmail app is r eady to go. If you haven ’t set up a Gmail account yet, or to set up another Gmail account, add accounts in Settings > Accounts > A dd account . F or more information, see Google Acc ount on page 25 .
