40 Using the Command Line Inter face The following conventions apply to the command name: • The command name is displayed in bold fo nt. It must be entered exactly as shown. • When you have entered enough letters of a command name to uniquely identify the command, you can press the space bar or Ta b key to cause the system to complete the word.

48 Using the Command Line Inter face Mode-based Command Hierar chy As introduced above, the CLI is divided into va rious modes. Commands in a particular mo de are not available until the operator switches to th at mode, with the exception of the User Exec mode commands.

(formally called the Interface Vlan Config mode, or more simply , the Interface Vlan mode) This mode groups a ll the commands pertaining to VLANs.

If a trap condition is enabled and the condition is detected, the switch's SNMP agent sends the tr ap to all enabled trap receivers.
