1 AlphaBeam for PC Description AlphaBeam™ is a software applicat io n you install on you r computer that lets you beam text from your IR-capable Al phaSmart device to an IR-capable computer . AlphaBeam sends text using industry -standard in frared ( IrDA®) communica tions.
2 Installing AlphaBeam AlphaBeam is available as a download from the AlphaSmart web site, as an application o n its own CD, or as a supple mental application on various other Alph aSmart product CDs. For serial IR pod users T o install AlphaBeam with a serial IR pod from AlphaSmar t: 1.
3 For USB IR pod users Wa r n i n g ! Do not plug the USB IR pod into your computer be fore you inst all AlphaBea m on your computer . Wait until the install ation finishes and you restart your compu ter before plugg ing the USB IR pod in to a USB port on your comp uter .
4 4. On your computer , open the file t o which you want to send the text (it can be a new fi le or a file that already has content), an d place your cursor where you wa nt the text to begin. This should be the last thing you do befor e going to step 5.
