3 Introduction After you have set up your Epson S tylus ® NX200 Serie s all-in-one as described on the Start Here sheet, turn here to: ■ Load paper ■ Make a copy of a document or photo ■ P rint.
4 Loading Paper Loading Paper Y ou can print documents and photos on a v ariety of paper types and sizes. F or details, see page 6. 1. Open the paper support and pull up th e extensions. Then open the output tray , pull out the extensions, and raise the stopper .
Loading P aper 5 3. Insert the paper , glossy or printable side up, against the right side and beneath the tab. (Load letterhead or pr e-printed paper top edge first.) Y ou can load up to 120 sheets of plain pa per , 80 sheets of matte, or 20 sheets of photo paper .

Copying a Document 9 Copying a Document Y ou can copy documents onto letter- or A4-size plain paper or E pson special paper just like a copy machine. 1. Load letter- or A4-size plain paper or E pson special paper . 2. P ress the paper size button, if necessary , to select Le tter Size Plai n Paper .
10 Copying a Docume nt or Photo Copying a Photo Y ou can copy photos onto 4 × 6-inch E pson photo paper (various types available) for borderless photo r eprints. 1. Load up to 20 sheets of 4 × 6-inch E pson photo paper . 2. P ress the paper size button, if necessary , to select 4"x6" Photo Paper .
Copying Draft Documents 11 Copying Draft Documents Y ou can make quick draft copies of documents on plain paper or Epson Bright White paper. Dr aft copies have reduced print quality , but they print faster . 1. Load letter- or A4-size plain pa per or Epson B right White paper.

Printing From a Memory Card 13 Compatible Cards and Image Formats Y ou can use the following types of cards with your NX200 Series: The NX200 Series supports image files that meet the following requirements: * DCF is the “Design rule for Camera File system” standard.
14 Printing From a Memory Card or Digit al Camera Inserting the Card 1. Make sure the NX200 S eries is turned on. 2. Insert your card into the correct slot as show n (it won ’ t go in all the way). Insert just one card at a time. The memory card access light flashes and stay s lit.
Printing From a Memory Card 15 Printing Photos From an Index Sheet Y ou can print an index sheet containing small versions of all the photos on your memory card. Then you can select the photos you want to print by marking them on the sheet and scanning the sheet.

Printing From a Memory Card 17 4. Close the document cover . 5. Load the type of paper on which you want to print your photos, either plain or photo paper . 6. Make sure y our memor y card is still inserted. 7. P ress Print from Index Sheet to start scanning and printing.
18 Printing From a Memory Card or Digit al Camera Printing From a Digital Camera If you have a digital camera that support s PictBridge ™ or USB DIRECT -PRINT printing, you can connect it to the NX200 Series and print your photos directly from the camera.
Printing Fr om Your Computer 19 Printing From Your Computer This section describes the basic steps for printing a photo or document stored on your Windo ws or Macintosh computer . F or detailed instr uctions on printing, see the on-screen User’s Guide .
20 Printing From Your Computer 4. On the Main tab , select the basic print settings. Make sur e you choose the correct paper Type setting for the paper you ar e using (see page 25 for details). Note: For quick access to the most common settings, click the Shortcuts tab and select one of the presets.

22 Printing From Your Computer 5. Select the basic copy and page se ttings. For bor derless photos, choose a Paper Size setting with a Sheet Feeder - Borderless option. Note: If the setting you want i sn’t shown (f or example, Scale ), check for it in your application before printing.

Printing With a Macintosh 25 9. T o monitor the progress of your print job, click the printer icon in the dock (or click the Print Center icon and double-click Stylus NX200 on the next scre en). Selecting the Correct Paper Type Select the correct Type (see page 20) or Media Type (see page 24) setting in your printer software.
26 Scanning a Phot o or Docume nt Scanning a Photo or Document Y ou can use your Epson Stylus NX200 Se ries all-in-one to scan a photo or document and save it on your computer or other device. Y ou can even restor e and correct phot ographs as you scan (see page 27).
Restoring and Correcting Phot os 27 Y ou see the Epson Scan standby window: 4. If the Mode setting in the upper right corner is set to Full Auto Mode , click the Scan button. If you are in Home or P rofessional M o de, you see a different E pson Scan settings window .
28 Maintaining Your All-in-One Maintaining Your All-in-One F ollow the instruction s in this chapter for checking and cleaning the print head nozzles and replacing ink cartridges. T o al ign the print head, if necessar y , see your on-screen Epson Information Center .
Cleaning the Print Head 29 3. Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines. 4. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head as described in the next section.
30 Maintaining Your All-in-One Checking the Ink Cartridge Status When the red B ink light starts flashing, a car tridge is low on ink. Y ou can continue printing until a cartridge ne eds replacement. When the red B ink light stays on, you need to replace a cartridge.
Replacing Ink Cartridges 31 Note: We recommend that you use genuine Epson ca rtridges and do not re fill them. The use of other products may affect your print quality and could result in printer damage. Y ields vary considerably b ased on images pr i nted, print settings, paper type, frequency of use, and temperature.
32 Maintaining Your All-in-One 3. P ress the y Stop button. The print head moves to the _ position to in dicate which cartridge is low or expended. Caution: Do not move the print head by hand; th is may damage your NX200 Series. Always press and release the y Stop button to move it.
Replacing Ink Cartridges 33 5. Open the cartridge cover . 6. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift it up. Dispose of it carefully . Do not take the used cartridge apar t or tr y to refill it. Warning: If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water.
34 Maintaining Your All-in-One 8. Remo ve the yellow tape from the bottom of the ink cartridge. Caution: Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink may leak. 9. Insert the new ink cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place.
Replacing Ink Cartridges 35 11. Close the scanner . 12. P ress the y Stop button to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2½ minutes. When it’ s finished, the P On light stops flashing and remains on, and the B ink light goes out . Caution: Never turn off the NX200 Series while ink is charging or you’ll waste ink.
36 Solving Problems Solving Problems If you have a problem with your NX200 S eries, check the lights on the control panel to diagnose the cause. Y ou can also check “Problems and S olutions ” on page 38 for basic troubleshooting suggestions, or double-click the User’s Guide icon on your computer desktop for more detailed help .

Printing and Copying Problems ■ Make sure y our original is positioned in the front right corner of the glass. If the edges ar e cropped, mo ve your orig inal away from the edges slightly .
Problems and Solutions 39 ■ If paper is ja mmed, follow these steps: 1. Gently pull out jammed paper from the output tray or sheet feeder . 2. If paper is stuc k inside, turn off the NX20 0 Series. 3. Lift the scanner , remo ve the jammed paper and torn pieces, lo wer the scanner , and turn the NX200 Series back on.
