4 P R E P A R A T I O N F O R U S E UN PA CKING AND SET UP • Carefully remove the main unit and the accessories from the display carton and remove all the packing material from the unit. • Carefully remove any small strips of tape that may have been used to prevent the CD door from opening in transit.
5 BATTERY BACK UP SYSTEM This model includes a battery back up circuit that will maintain the clock and alarm settings in the event of a temporary power interruption. The battery back up system requires one 9- Volt batter y , not included. The battery compartment is located on the back of the cabinet.
6 POWER SOURCE This radio is designed to operate on 120V 60Hz AC onl y . Attempting to operate this radio on any other power source could cause damage to the unit and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Make sure the radio is connected to an AC outlet that is always “ live ” .

9 O PE R A T I N G I N S T RUC T I O N S • Make sure you have installed the back up battery in the battery compartment. • Make sure you have removed the dummy CD transit card from the CD compartment. • Connect the AC power cord plug to a 120V 60Hz AC outlet.
1 0 SETTING THE WAKE-UP TIME 1.) Depress and hold the ALARM 1 button. The display will change from clock time to wake-up time and flash “ 12:00 ”. Continue to hold the ALARM 1 button and repeatedly press the / HOUR button to adjust the display to the correct wake-up hou r, AM or PM.

1 2 PL AYING COMPACT DISCS 1. Set the FUNCTION selector switch on the front cabinet to the CD position. 2. Press the POWER ON/OFF button on the top panel. The POWER indicator and the radio dial lighting come ‘ On ’. 3. Press the area marked “ OPEN ” on the CD door.
1 3 Pause Control To pause momentarily during CD playback press the PL A Y/ PA USE button on the front panel again. The sound stops and the track number display flashes for a few seconds but the disc continues to spin. Press the PL A Y/ PAUSE button again to cancel the Pause mode and resume normal playback.
1 4 Special Playback Modes Repeat Playback Y ou can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat mode can be selected while the disc is playing or while the disc is stopped. Single Track Repeat Select the track to be repeated and then press the REPE AT button on the front panel once.
1 5 Programmed Playback Use the Programmed Playback feature to play up to 20 tracks on a disc in any desired orde r . You may also program a particular track to play several times within a programmed sequence if desired. Note : You cannot program a disc while it is playing.
1 6 4.) Repeat step 3, selecting a different track number each time until you have entered up to 20 tracks in the program memory. 5.) When you have completed programming the desired tracks press the PL A Y/ PA USE button to begin programmed playback. The PROG indicator stops flashing and remains ‘ On ’ .
1 7 Dual Alarm Function Y ou can use the alarm function to wake you to an electronic buzzer tone, the radio, or your favorite CD. First press the ALARM 1 and/or ALARM 2 buttons on the front panel to check the Wake Up time settings. Adjust the Wake Up time if necessar y.
1 8 Wake To CD Load the desired CD, begin playback and adjust the volume to the desired level. Press the POWER ON/OFF button to shut the system ‘ Off ’ . Set the BUZZ / AUTO / OFF switch on the left side panel to AUTO . Set the ALARM selector to the desired position for ALARM 1 , ALARM 2 , or ALARM 1+2 .
1 9 Sleep To Music Timer Y ou can use the sleep timer to fall asleep to the radio or CD player for 90, 60, or 30 minutes and have the unit shut off automaticall y.
2 0 PHONES Jack The Stereo Headphone Jack is located on the front panel. Connect a set of stereo headphones (not included) to this jack for private listening without disturbing others. The internal speakers are automatically disconnected when headphones are connected to the PHONES jack.
