5 About Y our New Label Maker With the DYMO Labe lManager 220P el ec tronic lab el maker , you can cr eate a wide variet y of h igh- qualit y , self-adhe sive labels. You can choos e to print your lab els in many dif fe rent font si zes and st yle s. The labe l maker uses DYMO D 1 tape c asse t tes in width s of 6 mm, 9 mm, or 1 2 mm.
6 Connec ting the O ptional Power Adapter An optional 9 Volt, 1.5 A power adapter can also b e used to power t he label maker. Connec ting t he AC adapter disconne c ts the b at teries as a p ower source. T o conne c t the power ad apter Plug the power adapter i nto the power conne c tor on 1.
7 Using the Label Mak er for the F irst Time The f ir st tim e you turn on t he power , you are asked to sel ec t the language a nd unit s of measure. The se sele c tions will r emain set un til you change t hem, or until th e label maker is res et. Y ou can c hange the se sele c tions using t he Set tin gs key .

9 Format The 2 key displays the Fo nt Size, Clear Format, Mir ror, Label Length, Alignment, Und erline, Bord ers, and St yle subm enus. The se for mat ting feat ures are desc ribe d later in this User Gui de. Inser t The 8 key allows you to inser t s ymb ols or saved tex t o n your label.
10 Clear The 6 key gives you a c hoice to clear all label te x t, just t he tex t for mat ting, or both. Navigat ion Ke ys Y ou can rev iew and edi t your label using t he lef t and r ight ar row keys. Y ou can also navigate throu gh menu sele c tions using t he up and down ar row keys, and then press } to make a selec tion.

13 Creating F ixed-Length Labels Normally, the length of t he label is de termine d by the length o f the tex t. However, you can c hoose to s et the leng th of the labe l for a spe cif ic ap plicati on. When you cho ose a f ixe d label lengt h, the label tex t is au tomatic ally resized to f it the labe l.
