System Over view T T H H E E P P O O W W E E R R T T A A P P S S Y Y S S T T E E M M The P owerT ap system includes a power-measuring hub which measures tor que and wheel speed. This information is transmitted to a c omputer mounted on the handlebar or stem.

Make sure the axel is correctly positioned in the dropouts and secure the wheel in place with a steel skewer .

C C a a d d e e n n c c e e ( ( C C ) ) Cadence is measured at the hub by analyzing the wa y a rider applies torque through the pedal stroke since there are natural pow er differences in the pedal stroke. The rate of pedaling is shown from 20 to 240 RPM.

H H e e a a r r t t R R a a t t e e ( ( ) ) Current heart rate is shown up to 255 beats per minute (BMP). Y ou must wear the heart rate chest strap to enable the hear t rate measurement function. NOTE: The Po werT ap SL2.4 uses a coded chest strap. 1) Press [MODE] to scr oll the cursor to the bottom line of the main display .

Computer Setup The setup feature has f our (4) main modes. Y ou d d o o n n o o t t have to c omplete all four to change set- tings. Please reference each mode to determine the c orrect location to begin.
C C O O M M P P U U T T E E R R S S E E T T U U P P 1 1 This setup menu includes: time of day , date, storage rate, wheel circumfer ence, units of measure, odometer . NOTE: Y ou are unable to move back t o a previously viewed settings. Y ou must restar t setup 1 to make corrections.
5) Press [SELECT ] to toggle through digit values t o set minutes in time of day . Press [MODE] to sa ve. 6) Press [SELECT ] to toggle through digit values t o set year , month, and date. Press [MODE] to sa ve. 7) Press [SELECT ] to toggle through storage rate v alues (1, 2 seconds).

4) The P owerT ap can be used as a cycle computer or heart rate monitor . Maintenance & Specifications The following inf ormation will help you keep your P owerT ap SL2.4 running properly . If you are not familiar with hub maintenance please consult a prof essional bicycle mechanic before servicing.
-Install spacers per the illustration. -Install axle. -Apply 2 grams of high quality freehub grease to the ratchet ring . -Grease the V seal and place it on the freehub and install onto shaft.
C C O O M M P P U U T T E E R R B B A A T T T T E E R R I I E E S S The P owerT ap SL2.4 has batteries in the hub and computer . Computer bat- teries typically need to be changed every 400 hours of use. The computer will also say “low bat” when the computer battery needs to be changed.
H H U U B B B B A A T T T T E E R R I I E E S S Normal battery life in the hub is 400 hours of actual ride time. Use #357 or EPX76 Silver Oxide type batteries and always replace batteries in pairs. Alk aline t ype batteries give shorter life and poorer performance.
T T E E S S T T M M O O D D E E 1) Fr om the computer setup main menu press [SELECT ] and scroll until the letter “t ” is flashing. Press [MODE] to ent er setup mode. 2) Press [MODE] to scr oll through the different test modes as shown b y the number .
on the left side. Press [SELECT ]. The bottom line will sa y “run ” and then “yes” if it passes the test correctly . If the pins are not shorted together or there was a problem, the display will say “no ” .T h i s test can be repeated by pressing [SELECT ].
