6 The 52P a nd 52C models ar e a single-packag e, through- the-wall unit f or heati ng and cooli ng hotel rooms, of fices, apart m ents, con dominiums, and resi- dential ad ditions.
7 NO-RUST WEA THER LAST™ W ALL SLEEVE AND FRONT PA N E L The indoor front pane l and polymer wal l sleeve use nonmetall ic compounds that never rust or corrode, do not suppor t combustion, and do not gi ve off t oxic fumes.
8 TWO-PIECE LIFETIME INDOOR FIL TER New t wo-p iece re mova ble fil ters ea sily slide in and out from the fron t of the P T AC unit and a re inter- chang eable. The front pane l does not need to be remove d to acces s or change t he filt ers. The fil ters ar e washab le and permanent.
9 POWER CORD FOR 265-V UNITS A power cord is i ncluded for 26 5-v units. The powe r cord is 18 i n. long (cord ext ends 15 in. from bott om of front panel ) and per UL and National Elec trical codes must p lug into an e lect rical sub bas e.

11 ENHANCED COPPER TUBING Enhanced co pper tubing is mo re ef ficien t and durabl e and ca n be repai red in th e field, if re quired. Because cop per is a very sta ble metal, it is durable and resist s corros i on.

18 OUTDOOR GRILLES Carrier r ecommends only the us e of Carrier -supplied grill es for use on the 52 P and 52C series uni ts. How- ever , the arc hitectural design s of a building may dic- tate the use of sp ecial or oversized gri lles and/or louvers .
19 Outdoor Grille Selection The foll owing guidel ines must be f ollowed in t he ini- tial se lec tion o f any a ltern ate ex teri or gri lle or l ouve r: 1. The louver must have a mi nimum of 65% free area. Free area is the minimum area of the opening in an air inlet or o utlet in which air can pass.
20 SUBBASE This d ecorati ve subbase s upports the unit and is avail - able in t hree b asic m odels : non- elec trica l, elec trical , and har dwir ed. A subb ase (or le velin g legs) is re quir ed for in stall a- tions wh ere the wall slee ve extends 4 or more i nches into th e room or the wall is less than 2 in.

26 Replacem ent Filters Part No.: AIR-FIL TER-10PK The Carrier 5 2P and 52C m odel replacemen t air filters come in packages of 10. The filters save ene rgy by pre- venting the ev aporator c oils from bein g plugged w ith dirt and lint. These economical and stu rdy filters are inter- changeable a nd may b e washed, vacuum ed, and re used.
