Operating Instructions 5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Safety Instructions The safety aspects of AEG electrical appliances comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Sa fety Law.
Operating Instructions 6 • Never place the dishwasher in ope ration if the mains cable, water inlet or drain hose is damaged; or the control panel, work top or plinth area is damaged such that the inside of the appliance is freely accessible.
Operating Instructions 7 • In the event of a fault, first close the tap, then switch off the appli- ance and unplug it from the mains. If the appliance is permanently wired to the mains: remove the fuse. 2 Disposal Disposing of the Pa ckaging Material Dispose of the dishwasher packaging material correctly.
Operating Instructions 8 2 Economical and Ecological Dishwashing • Ensure that the water soften er is correctly adjusted. • Do not pre-rinse dishes under running water. • W hen you wash a small load, the lo ad sensor calculates the amount of water necessary and shortens the programme.

Operating Instructions 10 Control Panel The Control Panel comprises the ON/OFF switch and the programme buttons with LED indicators. Softener and Functi on Button: in addition to the wash programme marked, it is also possible to adju st the dishwasher's water soften er using the combination of these buttons.
Operating Instructions 11 Prior to using for the first time Prior to using for the first time, remo ve all the clips with wh ich the dish racks are secured for transport. Then perform the following steps: 0 1. Adjust the water softener 2. Fill with Salt for the Water Softener 3.
Operating Instructions 12 0 1. The dishwasher must be switched off. 2. Press the function and water softener buttons simultaneously and keep them pressed 3. In addition press the ON/OFF switch. The LED indicators for the function and water softener buttons flash.
Operating Instructions 13 Filling with Salt fo r the Water Softener 1 Use only special salt for dishwashers. Never fill the salt container with any another type of salt (e.g. culinar y salt) or dishwasher detergent, as this would irreparably damage the water softener.
Operating Instructions 14 Filling with Rinse Aid Rinse aid is automatically added duri ng the last rinse, ensuring thor- ough rinsing, spot and streak free drying. 1 Only use rinse aid specifically designed for domestic dishwashers. Never fill the rinse aid container with any other substance as this would dam- age the appliance.
Operating Instructions 15 Adjusting Rinse Aid Dosing 3 As the dishes are washed rinse aid is released from the dispenser into the wash water. The dose is factory set at 4, and can be adjusted fro m 1 to 6. Only change the setting if streaks, milky spots or dried on water marks are visible on glasse s or crockery.
Operating Instructions 16 Loading Cutlery and Dishes 1 Sponges, household cloths and any obj ect that can absorb water should not be washed in the dishwasher . • Be fore loading the dishes, you should: – Remove all scraps of food. – Soften remnants of burnt food in pans.
Operating Instructions 17 Loading Cutlery 1 Long bladed knives stored in an up right position are a potential hazard. 1 Long and/or sharp items of cutlery su ch as carving knives must be posi- tioned horizontally in the upper basket. 1 Take care when loading or unload ing sharp items such as knives.
Operating Instructions 18 I f you use the grid insert, it is not possible to open the cutlery basket. 1 To ensure that the cutlery basket cannot open on removal from the appliance, you should al ways hold both parts of the two part handle. 0 1. Place the cutlery basket on a table or work surface 2.
Operating Instructions 19 Loading Pans, Frying Pans and Large Plates Load large and heavily soiled dishes in the lower rack. 3 To ease the loading of large items at some dish washer-m odels the two rows of prongs for the right-hand plate insert can be folded down: 0 1.

Operating Instructions 22 Filling with Detergent 1 Only use dishwasher detergent. Fill with detergent: – Prior to the start of a wash programme (not for the pre wash pro- gramme).
Operating Instructions 23 Bio Wash Programmes and Co ncentrated Detergents Based on their chemical compositio n, dishwasher detergents can be split into two basic types: – Co nventional, alkaline detergents with caustic components – W eak alkaline concentrated dete rgents with natu ral enzymes.
Operating Instructions 24 Selecting the Wash Progr amme (Programme Table) Choose the most suitable wash program me with the aid of this table: 1) 1) In addition to the wash programme s listed in this table, there is a special programme: PRE WASH .
Operating Instructions 25 Start the Wash Programme 0 1. Check that when the dishes and cutl ery are loaded into the dishwasher the spray arms are free to rotate. 2. Open the tap fully. 3. Shut the door. 4. Press the ON/OFF button. The ON/OFF button indicator illuminates.

Operating Instructions 27 Load Sensing – Sensor Logic If a wash programme is started even though there are only a few dishes in the upper and/or lower rack, an in telligent electronic system adjusts the amount of water and the durati on of the wash programme to the number of dishes.
Operating Instructions 28 Care and Cleaning 1 Do not under any circumstances use fu rniture care pro ducts or aggres- sive cleaners. • If necessary, clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pure warm water. • T he spray arms do not n eed cleaning.

After rectifying a (2 fault and a fault related to the WATER indica- tor, press the button for the wash programme that has been started.

Operating Instructions 32 There are streaks, milky spots or a bluish coating on glasses and dishes. – L ower rinse aid dosing. There are dried water drops on the glasses and dishes. – Increase rinse aid dosing. – T he detergent may be the cause.

Installation and Conn ection Instructio ns 36 Connecting the Dishwasher Water Connection The dishwasher is fitted with safety devices that prevent the wash water returning into the drinking water system and comply with the applicable plumbing regulations.

Installation and Connectio n Instructions 39 Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to inst all this appliance should be car- ried out by a qualified e lec trician or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any resp onsibility should these safety measures not be observed.

The plumbing and electrical installa tion ex ample given below can only be regarded as a recommendation.
Guarantee Conditions 41 GUARANTEE CONDITIONS Guarantee Conditions AEG offer the follow ing guarantee to the first purcha ser of this appliance. 1. The guara ntee is valid fo r 12 months comme ncing when the applian ce is ha nded over to the first retail purchaser, w hich must be verified by purchase i nvoice or similar doc- umentation.
