XA20-XA25 and HF G 30 Using Wi -Fi to Play Images and Movie s on a Computer.
Using the Media Se rver fun ction, you can wireles sly view your movies and ph otos from your computer or similar devic e. You will need an ac cess point conne cted to your h ome network and software ins talled on your computer that can play b ack movies and ph otos on the m edia server.

Step 2: Connect to an Access Point Using Wi-Fi Connect to an access point. If you have alread y comple ted the settings for connecting to an access point, pr oceed to Step 3: Playing Back Movies and Ph otos If an access point has n ot been regis tered, an access p oint registrati on message will be displayed.
[WPS: Button]* Simply press and h old the WPS button on your access point and then t ouch the camcorders scr een. This is the easi est connecti on method if you ar e using a WPS- compatible rout er. [WPS: PIN Code]* Access the access points config uration screen using y our Web brows er.
: (Press to exit after entering the in formation.) : Text field : Letter/number k eys : / (Switch between let ters and numbers/special characters.) : Space key : Backspace (Delete th e character to the cursors left.) : / / Caps Lock. When the n umerical keyboard i s displayed, [# %?] switches between set 1 and set 2 of special characters.
2-a-2. Within 2 minut es, touch [OK] on the camcorder s screen. The camcorder will c onnect to the access point. You can touch [Stop] and then [OK] t o interrupt the Wi-Fi Protected Setup while it is in progre ss.
[Connected] will appea r on the camc order's screen an d the connecti on will be es tablished. Proceed to Step3: Playing Bac k Movies and Photos 2-b-1. [WPS: PIN C ode] method From a computer or similar devic e connected to th e access point, us e the Web brows er to open the routers WPS settin gs screen.

2-c-1.[Search for Acce ss Points] method The camcorder will au toma tically detect access p oints in the vicinity. Af ter you select th e desired access point, you simply enter the passw ord (encryption key) to connect the ca mcorder. To enter text f or the various set tings, use the virtual keyboard .
In the [Encryption Key] field, enter the encryption k ey. Touch [OK]. 2-c-5. Touch [OK]. [Connected] will appea r on the camc order's screen an d the connection will be establ ished. Proceed to Step3: Playing Bac k Movies and Photos 2-d-1. Manual Setup Perform this pr ocedure to manuall y configure the wireless connec tion settings.
2-d-2. Enter the SSI D. Touch the [SSID] fi eld. Enter the SSID and then touch [OK] > [N ext]. 2-d-3. Select the Authen tication/ Encryption Meth od Touch the [Authentic ation/Encrypti on Method] field. 2-d-4. Touch the desir ed method. If you selected [ OPEN WEP], the WEP index is 1.
2-d-5. Enter the [Encr yption Key] In step 2-d- 4. , if you select ed [OPEN NONE], entering the encr yption key is not necessary. Touch the [Encryption Key] field , and then enter the encryption key. Touch [OK] > [Next]. 2-d-6. Select how to obtain the IP a ddress.
2-d-8. Touch [ ] / [ ] to chan ge the value and then t ouch [OK]. Enter the following information using th e procedure explained above for the IP Address. 2-d-9. Enter the Sub net Mask and t ouch [Next]. 2-d-10. Enter the Default Gatewa y and touch [Next].
Touch [OK]. [Connected] will appea r on the camc order's screen an d the connecti on will be es tablished. Step 3: Playing Back Movies and Photos 1. Computer: Select your camcorders model number f rom the list of s ervers. 2. Computer: Select the folder for the desired memor y card and play back the movies and ph otos.
3. Camcorder: T ouch [End] > [OK] when finished. This concludes the pro cedure for using Wi-Fi to playba ck images and movies on a computer. IMPORTANT Observe the foll owing precau tions when transferring f iles. Failing to do so may in terrupt the transfer and inco mplete files may remain at the transfer destina tion.
IMPORTANT When using the ca mcorders Wi-Fi fun ctions, do not c over the Wi-Fi antenna with your hand or other object. Coverin g it may interf ere with wirel ess signals. While using Wi-Fi fun ctions other than remotely contr olling the camcord er using the Wi- Fi Remote applicati on, do not open the double me mory card slot cover.
