87 Shooting-Advanced Functions 6 Setting the Aperture When you set t he aperture in t he aperture- priority AE mode, the camera auto matically s elect s a sh utter speed to match the bri ghtness . Select ing a lower apertur e value (openin g the apertu re) allows you to blu r the backgr ound and creat e a beautifu l portrait.
