ENG-4 See your camera’ s instructions for details on mounting and detaching the lens. 1. Mounting and Detac hing the Lens • After detaching the lens, place the lens with the rear end up to prev ent the lens surf ace and electrical contacts from getting scratched.
ENG-5 To shoot in autof ocus (AF) mode, set the f ocus mode switch to AF . To use only manual f ocusing (MF), set the f ocus mode switch to MF , and focus b y turning the f ocusing ring. The f ocusing ring alwa ys works, regardless of the focus mode .
ENG-6 5. Adjusting Zooming Resistance Y ou can adjust the zooming “touch” (resistance) as needed by holding the f ocusing ring in place and turning the adjustment r ing. Tu rn the adjustment ring towards the word SMOO TH to reduce the zooming touch, or tow ards TIGHT to increase it.
ENG-7 When you press the shutter b utton halfw ay , the Image Stabilizer will start operating. • Make sure the image in the viewfinder is stab le, then press the shutter button the rest of the wa y down to tak e the picture. 6. Ima ge Stabilizer Settings Y ou can use the image stabilizer in AF or MF mode .
ENG-8 7. Tips on Using the Ima ge Stabilizer • In semi-darkened areas such as indoors or outdoors at night. • In locations where flash photograph y is prohibited, such as ar t museums and theater stages. • In situations where your f ooting is uncer tain.
ENG-9 Tips on Using the Image Stabilizer • When y ou use a tripod, the Image Stabilizer should be turned off to save battery power . • The stabilizer is equally eff ectiv e f or hand-held photograph y and photograph y with a monopod.
ENG-10 8. Infinity Compensation Mark To compensate f or shifting of the infinity f ocus point that results from changes in temperature. The infinity position at normal temperature is the point at which the vertical line of the L mar k is aligned with the distance indicator on the distance scale.
ENG-11 10. Using the T ripod Mount Adjusting the Rev olving Mount Y ou can loosen the orientation lock-knob on the tripod mount to allow it to rotate as needed to fit a par ticular camera model f or s witching between v er tical and horizontal positions.
