13 The QL U tilit y is a co mpute r program that allows you to chang e the p rinter's default settin gs. Normally when us ing a c omputer p rogram to prin t a docum ent, pri nt setting s are specifi ed in th e prin ter driv er's dia log box a nd then the da ta i s sent to the pri nter .

Potential types of problems Problem So lution The Brother QL printer does no t print, or a printing error is received. • Is the cable loose ? Check that the cable is connected securely.
18 The printed bar code cannot be read. • Set the label vertical to the print head as shown below. • Some types of s canner are not able to read the b ar code. Try using another scanner. • We recommend print ing the Bar code with Print Quality options set to "Give priority to print quality".
19 When printing via the USB cable, the printer repeatedly pauses and then continues printing. • Is the printer set for sequent ial printing? If so, set print mode to buf fered printing.
