Using the ADF 3 The ADF can hold up to 35 pages and feed each she et indi viduall y. Use paper t hat is within the sizes and weights s hown i n the table.

38 Cannot Detect You instal led a new ink cartridge t oo quickly and t he machi ne did not detect it. Take ou t the new ink car tridge and reinstall it slo wly and firml y until the c art ri dge l ever l ifts. (See Onli ne User’s G uide.) An ink cartridge i s not installed cor r ect l y.
Troubleshooti ng 39 B Data Remaining in Memory Print da ta is left in the machine's memory. Pres s . The mac hine will cancel the job and clear it from the memory. Try to p rint aga in. Disconnected The other person or o ther person' s fax machi ne stoppe d the call.
40 Ink Abso rber Pad Full The ink absorbe r box or flush ing box is full. T hese compon ents are periodic ma intenance i tems that may require r eplacement a fter a period o f time to ensure opt imum performance from your Broth er machine.
Troubleshooti ng 41 B Low Temperature The roo m temperatur e is too low. Afte r increasing the room temper ature, al low the machine t o warm up to room te mper ature. Try again when the mac hine has w armed up. Media is Ful l. Th e USB flas h drive you a re using already cont ains 99 9 files.
42 No Paper Fed The ma chine is out of pape r, or paper is not c orrectly loaded in the pape r tray. Do one of the f ollowing: Refill the pap er tray, and th en press OK on the Touchs creen. Remove and rel oad the paper, then press OK on the Touc hscreen.
Troubleshooti ng 43 B Out of Memor y Th e machine's mem ory i s full. If a f ax-sending or cop y operation is in p rogress: Pr ess or Quit or Close and wait un til the other operations that are in progr ess finish, and then tr y again. Pr ess Send Now to send the pages scanned so far.
44 Unable to Clean XX Unabl e to Initialize XX Unable to Print XX The machi ne ha s a mechanica l problem. — OR — A foreig n object, such as a paper clip or a piec e of ripp ed paper, is in the machine. Open the scanne r c ove r and remove any forei gn ob jects and p aper scraps from inside the machin e.
Troubleshooti ng 45 B Wrong Paper The paper size setting do es not match the size of pa per in the tra y. 1 Check that the pap er size you choose on th e To uchscreen matches the size of the paper in the tray. (See Set P aper Si ze and Type on page 15.
