This manual was written wit h your saf ety and conv enience in mind, and the inf ormation contained herein is v er y important.
5 Dishwasher Com ponents • This appliance must be grounded t o a metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment gr ounding conductor must be run with the circuit conduct ors and connected t o the equipment gr ounding terminal or lead on the dishwasher .

7 Dishware Mat erials NO TE: Before using your dishw asher for the rst time, chec k the inf ormation in this section. Some items ar e not dishwasher saf e and should be hand-washed; others requir e special loading. Cont act the item’s manufacturer if y ou are unsure about the item’s dishwasher suitability .

11 Adding De terg ent and Rinse Agent Detergent Use only det ergent specically designed f or dishwashers. For best results, use fresh powdered dishwashing de tergent. A T TENTION T o a void dishwasher damag e, do not use hand dishwashing products. This dishwasher uses less wat er so you need to use less de tergent.
12 Operating the Dishwasher Before y ou begi n Using the T ouch Pad Controls Y our new dishwasher is eq uipped with the latest contr ol technology featuring Sens-a- T ouch Controls activation. In order t o activate a butt on, open the door and place the entire ng ertip over the desired button and hold it in place f or three seconds.
13 W ash Cy cle Opti ons W ARNING Y ou could be seriously scalded if you allo w hot water to splash out of the dishwasher . OPEN THE DOOR C AREFULL Y during any wash or rinse cy cle. Do not fully open the door until water noises ha ve stopped. The factory default settings for all op tions should pro vide good results.
14 Activating a Dishwasher Option T o activate an y of the Dishwasher Options listed, f ollow these steps: Open the dishwasher door far enough to e xpose the control panel. Pres s the On/Off button. Pres s the MENU/OK button until the desir ed option appears in the display window .
15 Winterizing Y our Dishwasher If your dishwasher will be unused f or an extended period of time in a location that experiences freezing t emperatures (e.g., in a holiday home or thr ough a vacation period), hav e your dishwasher wint erized by an authorized ser vice cent er .
16 Check/Clean the Filt er System This dishwasher has a lter syst em that consists of a Large Object T rap/Cylinder Filter assembly and a Fine F ilter . Select models have an additional Micr o Filter . The lter system is located on the inside of y our dishwasher under the lower rack and is easily accessible.
17 Clean the Exterior Door Panel Colored Doors Use only a soft cloth that is lightly dampened with soap y water . Stainless S teel Doors Use a soft cloth with a non-abrasive cleaner (pr eferably a liquid spra y) made for cleaning stainless steel. For t he best results, apply the stainless st eel cleaner to the cloth, then wipe the surface.
18 W ash Cycle Inf ormation NO TE: T o save energy , this dishwasher has a “Smar t Contr ol” that automatically adjust the cy cle based on soil loads and incoming water t emperature. The “Smar t Contr ol” makes decisions that can cause the cy cle time and water usage t o adjust intermitt ently .
19 Self Help Dishwashers may occasionally exhibit pr oblems that are unrelat ed to a malfunction of the dishwasher itself. The f ollowing information may help y ou with a dishwasher problem without your ha ving to call a repair person. Dishes do not dry The rinse agent dispenser may be em pty .
