7 Switching on for the first time – setting the language 1. Press the ON/OFF button. In the display HELLO appears first. As soon as the dishwasher is ready for use, this is r e- placed by LANGUAGE ENGLISH; the wor d ENGLISH flashes. 2. Using the Options button, select the desired lan- guage.
8 Display The info status bar consists of a r ow of individual lamps that is divided into two sections: the left sec- tion refers to the Programmes menu, the right se c- tion to the Options me nu. • In the Programmes and Options menus you can see at what stage within a cycle you curr ently are (the relevant lamp flashes).
9 Basic operation This section contains basic information r egarding the use of your dishwasher . Please r ead this section ve ry carefully . The Pr ogrammes menu • After switching on the dishwasher , you will find yourself in the Programmes menu. • Select your dishwashing cycle here using the Pro- gram button.
10 Adjusting an option/setting 1. T o go to the option or setting that you want to ad- just. 2. Press the Ok/Start button. Currently set value flashes. 3. Using the Options button , set the desired value. 4. Press the Ok/Start butt on. Newly set valu e is per- manently lit.
11 Setting electronically: 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a progra mme stage is displayed in the display , a dishwas hing cycle is active. First of all you must cancel the dishwashing cycle: – Pre ss the Cancel button . CONFIRM CANCEL? appears in the display .
12 Adding dishwasher Salt T o decalcify the water softener , it mus t be filled up with dishwasher salt. Use only special salt suitable for domestic dishwashers. If you do not use 3 in1 detergent, fill up with dish- washer salt: – Befor e using the dishwasher for the first time.
13 Filling Up with Rinse Aid Rinse aid causes t he rinse water t o flow easily from the cr ockery leaving gleaming dishes and glasswar e. If you do not use 3in1 deter gent, fill up with rinse aid: – Befor e using the dishwasher for the first time. – If when starting a dishwashing cycle the message REFILL RINSE AID is displayed.
14 Setting the Amount of Rinse Aid Requir ed 3 Only change the amount dispensed, if smears, milky spots (reduce the amount) or dried on water spots (incr ease the amount) can be seen on glasses and dishes. (See section “If dish- washing results ar e not satisfactory”.
15 In daily use Loading cutlery and dishes 1 Sponges, cleaning clot hs and any other ob - jects that can absorb wate r must not be washed in the dishwasher . Plastic and T eflon- coated dishes and pans tend to r etain water droplets. The se dishes and pans ther efore do not dry as well as those made of china and stainless steel.
16 Loading cutlery 1 Wa r n i n g : Sharp knives and other items of cut- lery with sharp edges must be laid in the cut- lery rack or in the upper basket be cause of the risk of injury . T o ensur e that all item s of cutlery in the c utlery bas- ket can be re ached by the water , you should: 1.
17 Pots, Pans, Large Plates Load lar ger and heavily soiled dishes and pans in the lower basket. (Max. diameter for plates 29 cm). T o make it easier to load lar ger dishes, the two rear plate re sts in the lower basket can be folded down and the cutlery basket in the lower ba sket can be moved to the side.
18 • The cup racks can be folded up out of the way for tall crockery items. • Lay or hang wine and bran dy glasses in the slots in the cup racks. • For glasses with long stems, fold the glass rack to the right, otherwise fold it away to the left .
19 Adjusting the Height of the Upper Basket 3 The height of the baskets can also be adjusted when they are loaded. Raising / Lowering the up per basket 1. Pull out the upper basket completely . 2. Holding the upper basket by the handle, raise it as far as it will go and then lower it vertically .
20 Adding Detergent Deter gents r emove the dirt fr om dishes and cutlery . The deter gent must be added be fore the c ycle starts. 1 Only use deter gent intended for domestic dishwashers. The deter gent compartment is located on the inside of the door .
21 Concentrated detergents T oday’ s deter gents for dishwashers ar e almost ex- clusively low-alkaline concentrated deter gents with natural enzymes i n tablet or powd er form.
22 Using 3in1 detergents These products ar e deter gents with a combined cleaning, rinsing and salt function. When the 3in1 function is activated, – the addition of special salt and rinse aid from the respective dispenser is prevented. – If the salt and rinse aid dispenser s are empt y , this is not indicated.

24 Selecting a programme When your dishes look like this, select: an intensive pr ogramme. a normal or ener gy-saving pr ogramme. a short programme (e.
25 Starting a Dishwashing Cy- cle 1. Check that the spray arms can turn freely . 2. T urn the water tap on fully . 3. Close the door . 4. Press the ON/OFF button. 5. Using the Program button, select the desir ed pro- gramme. The name of the dishwashing cycle that is curr ently selected flashes.
26 Switching Of f the dish- washer Switch off t he dishwasher if the messages PRO- GRAMME END and PLEASE SWITCH OFF are being displayed alternately . With some dishwashing cycles, the drying fan con- tinues to run even after the end of the c ycle.
27 Car e and cleaning 1 Do not use furniture care products or aggr es- sive cleaners. • When necessary , clean the dishwasher’ s controls with a soft cloth. • Occasionally check the internal dispensers, door seal and water inlet filter (if fi tted) for dirt and clean them, if necessary .
28 Cleaning the spray arm jets Regularly chec k the jets in the sp ray arms for blockages. When cleaning is necessary , re- move spray arm fr om the fixtur e and clean jets with a pointed ob ject (wire or needle) . Then rinse out the spray arm using a strong jet of water .
29 Bottom spray arm 1. T o r e move bottom spray arm, pull it upwards out of its catch. 2. Clean spray arm jets. 3. Place bottom spray arm back in position against connecting piece and pr ess down firmly , until you feel it snap into place.
30 What to do if … Resetting the language Y ou can r eset the language of the display to the fac- tory setting at any time. 1. Press the Cancel button r epeatedly until what is shown in the display no longer changes. 2. Press a nd hold the Cancel button for six seconds.
31 2 short warning tones , contin- uously repeated, can be hear d, in the display: DRAIN BLOCKED (Rinse water has collected in the dishwasher's interior con- tainer). The spigot is blocked. Clean the spigot. W ater drain hose has not been cor- rectly positioned.
32 If the Dishwashing Results ar e not Satisfactory The dishes are still dirty . • The wrong dishwashing cycle was selected. • The dishes were loaded is such a way that the dishwashing water did not reach all items. The baskets for the dishes must not be overloaded.
33 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials a re environmentally friendly and can be recyc led. The plastic com- ponents are identi fied by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appr opriate container a t your local waste disposal facilities.

36 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety Information for the Installation • Only transport the dishwasher in an upright posi- tion, otherwise salt water may run out. • Before using the dishwasher for the first time, check for any damage caused in transpor t.
37 Installing the Dishwasher • The dishwasher must be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to ens ure that it is stable and level in all directions. • T o compensate for unevenness in the floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units, extend the threaded feet using a screwdriver .
38 Free-standing appliances 1 If the dishwasher is installed directly next to a cooker , a heat-insulatin g, non-flammable pan- el (laminated with aluminium foil on the side next to the cooker) must be fitted flush with the top edge of t he work surface (depth 57.
39 Connecting the dishwasher Connecting to the water supply • The dishwasher can be connected t o cold and hot water supplies up to max. 60°C. • The dishwasher must not be co nnected to open hot water appliances or instantaneous water heat- ers.
40 Extension hoses • Extension hoses are available fr om your local Serv- ice Force Centre. T o ensure tha t the function of the appliance is not impeded, the internal diameter of extension hoses must be 19 mm.
41 Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appli- ance should be carried out by a qualified electri- cian or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer decl ines any responsibil- ity should these safety measures not be ob- served.
42 Connecting systems The water inlet hose, drain hose and the mains cable must all be connected to the side of the dishwasher as ther e is no space for them behind the appliance.
