Adjustments Chute Assembly The pi tch of the chute assembly contro ls the angle at which th e snow is thrown. Loosen t he wing kn ob found on the l ef t side of the chute 1 . assembl y and pivot the upp er chute upward or dow nward to the desire d pitch.

Auge r When e ngaged, th e augers rot ation draws snow into the auge r housing an d throws it out the discharg e chute. Rubber pa ddles on the aug ers also aid in pro pelling the sn ow thrower as they come in contac t with the p avement.
Starting the Engine W ARN ING! Always kee p hands and fee t clear of moving p art s. Do not use a p ressurized s tar ting f luid. Vapors are f lammabl e. NOTE: Allow th e engine to warm up fo r a few minutes af ter star ting. T he engine w ill not develop f ull power until it reaches oper ating temperatur es.

Changing Engine Oil NOTE: Che ck the oil level be fore each use an d after ever y f ive hours o f operatio n to be sure the correc t oil level is maint ained. Refe r to Checking O il Level in the Ope ration Sec tion Drain f uel from th e tank by running the e ngine until the 1 .
Af ter the spark plu g is seated, tighten wi th a spark plug 5 . wrench to comp ress the washer. NOTE: Wh en installing a n ew spark plug , tighten ⁄ -tur n af ter the spark p lug seats to compress th e washer. When reinst alling a used spa rk plug, tighten ⁄- to ⁄-turn af ter the spark p lug seats to compr ess the washer.
Replacing Belt Remove the b elt cover by removing the f ive hex s crews 1 . that secure i t to the frame. S ee Fig. 7 - 1. Remove the b elt by grasping it f rom the bot tom of the 2. auger pu lley and pulling ou tward. NOTE: Push down o n the idler pu ller to release th e belt from un der the bel t keeper.
Replacing Auger P addles The snow throwe r auger’s rubbe r paddles are subj ect to wear and shoul d be replace d if any signs of excessive wear are present. CAUTON: Do N OT allow the auger ’ s rubb er paddl es to wear to the point whe re por tions of the met al auger its elf can come in cont act with th e pavement.
