10 SPEAKER SETUP 12 Connecting the speakers Be sure to connect the left channel (L), right channel (R), “ + ” (red) and “–” (black) properly . If the connections are faulty , no sound will be heard from the speakers, and if the polarity of the speaker connections is incorrect, the sound will be unnatural and lack bass.

The adjustment of each speaker output level should be made at your listening position using the remote control.
22 ADJUSTING SPEAKER OUTPUT LEVELS 4 Adjust the level of the effect speakers using j / i so that it matches the level of the main speakers. While adjusting, the test tone is heard from the selected speaker . Note • T o adjust the level of the main speakers, use VOLUME knob (or VOLUME +/ – on the remote control).

38 Description of RDS data This unit can receive, PS, PTY , R T , CT , and EON data when receiving RDS broadcasting stations. ■ PS (Pr ogram Service name) mode: The name of the RDS station being received is displayed. ■ PTY (Pr ogram T ype) mode: There are 15 program types to classify RDS stations.

56 TROUBLESHOO TING Problem No sound from the rear center speaker. A “ humming ” sound can be heard. The volume level cannot be increased, or the sound is distorted. The sound effect cannot be recorded. A source cannot be recorded by a digital recording component connected to the DIGITAL OUTPUT jack of this unit.
