13 MEDIA INFORMA TION Making a T est Print The printer is able to produce a test pr int by itsel f, without any ex ternal input dev ice. The length of the test print and the roll selecti on can be adjusted by X erox Ser vice. 1. Locate the test print sw itch in the small openi ng next to the Status Display .
14 MEDIA INFORMA TION Dehu midifier The printer is equipped w ith heaters, w hich maintain the media at a constant temperature. The heaters operate at nig ht and in high- humidity conditions, in order to avoid moi sture-r elated problems w ith the media.
15 Manual By pass MANUAL BYP ASS FEED The bypass feed mode is used when the print, w hich is being sent to the pri nter, is a different size than the roll media loaded in the pr inter. For exampl e: You w ant to send a C size print, but there i s no C size media l oaded in the printer.

17 Problem Solving PROBLEM SO L VING S tatus Indicator s Code Explanation 0 (blinking) 0 is blinking on the S tatus Display Panel when the printer i s warming up or w hen the printer is maki ng a test print. 29 Care CARE Replacing the T oner Cart r i dge Toner cartr idges are suppl ied as part of a kit, which contains eight toner car tridges, four toner w a ste contai ners, and three oil pads. The toner cartridg es are packed insi de the toner w aste containers, two to a container .
30 CARE Replacing the T oner Cartr idge (cont.) 4. Shake the new car tridge a few times in order to prepare the contents for use. 5. Install the cartr idge into the toner supply mechanism whil e keeping the sealed opening on the upper side of the cartridge.
31 CARE Replacing the T oner Waste Container This pri nter does not hav e a mechanism for detecting a full toner w a ste contai ner. The printer i s designed to operate correctly if the toner w a ste container is r eplaced after two toner cartri dges have been used up.
