Operat ion 2 – 18 975-0125-02-01 Op erat ing in Equ a li za ti on Mo de Follo w the batt ery manufact urer ’ s recommendat ions for equalizi ng your batte rie s. As a guide, a he avily us ed fl ooded batt ery m ay need to be equali zed once a month, and a batter y i n light se rvice may only need to be equaliz e d every two to four months.

Configuration 3 – 2 975-0125-02-01 G ene ral Co nfigur atio n Inform ation Sy ste m Con trol All c hanges to the config uration of the MS20 00 are m ade with th e Syst em Contr ol Panel (SCP). The System Control P anel provides confi gur ation and monitoring capabi lity f or a ll Xa nbus-ena bled devic es on the network.
Configuration 975-0125-02-01 3 – 3 Syst em Me nu Ma p Figure 3-1 provides a map of how the men us are or ganiz ed. The orde r of device s appearin g on t he System Contr ol P anel will v ary , de pending on t he or der in which they ’ ve been con nected to the network.
Configuration 3 – 4 975-0125-02-01 V iewi ng the S ystem Scre en The System scre en, as shown in Figure 3-2, is used to moni tor system activ ity . Y ou cannot selec t or ch ange any of the inform ation on the System scree n. If you would l ike to vi e w more de tailed informatio n, pres s Enter to go t o the Select Device menu.

Th e System Contr ol Panel shows the MS2 000 ba s ic menu by default . MS2000 basic menu lis t sta tus inf ormation and set tings you may have to a djust on a rout ine basi s.
Configuration 975-0125-02-01 3 – 7 The MS2000 menu struc ture i s shown in Figure 3-6. The first f our line s appearing in both menus: Mode, Batt e ry , AC Input or AC O ut, are status ite ms only and are not configur able . Echo Chg Out in the Advanced Menu is also a status item and is not c onfigura ble.
Configuration 3 – 8 975-0125-02-01 MS2000 Device Me nu The MS 2000 device menu displa ys sta tus inform ation on the dif ferent modes of the inverte r/char ger . The f irst three line s of the de vice s creen displa ys dyna mic content tha t changes, dependi ng on what operati on mode that the MS2000 is in.

If advanc ed menu is enabled, scrol l through the MS2000 advanced menu ite ms until B asic Menu i s highli ghted and pr ess ente r .
Configuration 975-0125-02-01 3 – 11 Char ger Configur able setting Thi s setting lets you e nable or dis able t he operation of the main c harge r . When t he main char ger is enable d and AC is connected to the input, the house battery bank will char ge.

Configuration 975-0125-02-01 3 – 13 In the MS2000 home m enu, highlig ht Equa liz e, as shown in Fi gur e 3-8. When y ou s elect On, the e quali zation c onfirmati on warning appears, as shown in Figure 3-9. Selecti ng Y es takes you to the equa lization sys tem home sc reen, a s shown in Figure 3-10.
Configuration 3 – 14 975-0125-02-01 Batte ries must be f ully char ged bef ore equa lization . If they are not fully c har ged, a prech arge occurs. During pr echa rge, the Ti m e Remaining appear s as “ n/a ”— not appli cable. When the equaliz ation process begins, T ime Remaining appears as a value bet ween 60 min and 1 m in.

I f a batter y temperatu re sensor is not prese nt, the MS2000 uses cold, warm or hot setti ngs with the hot setting a s the default.
Configuration 3 – 16 975-0125-02-01 Clear F aults Purpose Cle ar Fault s is a command w h ic h cle ars a ll acti ve faults in the MS2000. When faults are cleared , the device will resume normal ope ration. If the fault condi tion still exists, the f ault wil l reoccur .

Configuration 3 – 18 975-0125-02-01 Max Chg Ra te Fu ll n ame M axi mu m c h ar ge ra te Configur able setting The a ctual battery char ge rate is deter mined by t w o things. F irst, the MS2000 uses the house bat tery Batt Size se tti ng (C) on page 3 – 15 divided by 5 (C ÷ 5) to deter mine that maximum total char ger output.
Configuration 975-0125-02-01 3 – 19 In anothe r example where the bank size is 500 Ah or more and the Max Chg rate is se t to 50%, the calculati on would b e: 500 ÷ 5 or 100 amps × 50%. The t ota l output would be 50 amps with 40 amps going to the house battery bank and 10 amps to the eng ine batt e ry .
