For the best results, please read this manual through carefully as it is your guide through the contro l menus and operation.

12 Positioning your projector English Po s i t i o n i n g y o u r p r o j e c t o r Choosi ng a location Y our projector is designed to be installed in one of four possible installation locations. Y ou r room la yout or personal prefer ence will dic t ate which installation locat ion you select.
13 Positioning your projector English O btaining a preferred pr ojected image size The distance from the project or lens to the screen, th e z oom setting, and the video format each factors in the projected imag e size.
14 Positioning your projector English If y ou place the pr ojector in a differ ent position (to that r eco mmended), you will hav e to tilt it do wn or up to center the image on the screen. In the se situations, some i mage distortion w ill occur . U se the K eystone function to correct the distortion.
15 Positioning your projector English Installation for a 4:3 ratio screen The illustr ations and table below are pro vided for those users who already have 4:3 aspect ratio screens or intend to purchase 4:3 aspect ratio scr eens to view 16:9 ratio projected images.
16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift control pr ovides flexibility for installi ng your projec tor . It al lows the projector to b e positioned off the cent er of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p erc entage of the projected image h eight or width.
17 Connecting with video equipment English Co nnecting w ith v ideo equipment Y ou can connect the projector to any typ e of video equipment, such as a V C R, DVD play er , di gital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , video game console or dig i tal camera.
18 Connecting with video equipment English Connecting co mponent-v ideo devices Be sure to match the co rresponding colors between the cables and the terminals. The RCA ty pe component vide o jacks are provided for connect ion to video outp ut devices.

Many laptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projecto r . Usually a key combination like Fn + F3 o r CRT/LCD key turns the external display o n/off.

If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable int o the AC inlet on the rear o f the project or . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer out let and turn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sourc e The projector can be connecte d to multiple e quipment at the same time. W hen the projector is first turned on, it w ill attempt t o reconnect with the input source which was in use when the projector was last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and s ettings. Below is the ov erv iew of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD menu to y our familiar language.
23 Using the projector English U tilizing the passwor d function For security pu rposes and to help prevent unauthorized use, the projector includes an option for setting up password security . Th e password can be set thr oug h the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menu.
24 Using the projector English Entering the password r ecall procedur e 1. Make sur e the Input Pass word page displays on scr een. Pr ess and hold PRESET MODE on the projector or remote control for 3 seconds. The projector wil l display a coded number on the screen.

These can be us ed if neces sar y to chan ge th e proj ec ti on ang le. Screw the feet in or out as appropriate to aim and le v el the projection ang le.
26 Using the projector English U sing the preset and user modes Selecting a preset mode The projector is preset w ith several pre-defined pic ture modes so that you can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input sour ce pictur e type. 27 Using the projector English Setting the U ser 1/U ser 2/U ser 3 mode There are three user -definable modes if the current available picture modes are not suitable for your need. Y ou can use one of the picture modes (exc ept the selected U ser mode) as a starting point and customize the settings.
28 Using the projector English Fine-tuning the picture quality No matter what picture mode you have selected, you are able to fine-tune those s ettings to fit ever y presentation purp ose. Those adjust ments will b e sav ed to the preset mode y ou are at when you exit the OSD menu.

31 Using the projector English Color Management In most installation situations, color management wil l not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lights remain on, or where building external windows allow daylight into the room.
32 Using the projector English Setting 3D Comb Filter This feature separates composite sign al to Y (brightness) signal and C (color) signal, and can help produce clear er and sharper images w ith cor rect colo rs in pla ce.
33 Using the projector English 3. Letter B o x ( LB ): Scales a picture to fit the pr ojector’ s native re solution in its hori zontal width and resize the picture’ s heig ht to the 3/4 of the projection w idth.
34 Using the projector English Oper ating in a high altitude environment W e recommend that y ou activate High Alt itude Mode w hen y our environment is higher than 1500 meters (around 4920 feet) abov e sea lev el, or whenever the proj ector will be used for extended periods of time (>10 hours) without shutdown.
35 Using the projector English Displa ying more than one image sour c e simultaneously Y o ur projector is capable of displaying pict ures simu ltaneously from tw o input sources, whic h can be used to enhance y our presentation in an interesting way .

44 Additional information English Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour When the pr ojector is in op eration, the duration (in hou rs) of lamp usage is automatically calculated b y the built-in timer .

An old lamp ma y cause a malfun ction in the projector and in some instances the la mp may explode.
