Introduc tion 13 Re mote control effe ctive range Infra-Red (IR) re mote contr ol sensor is located on the front of the pr ojector . The remote control must be held at an angl e within 30 deg rees perp endicular to the projector's IR remote control sensors to function correctly .
Positioning your project or 14 P ositioning your pr ojecto r Choosing a location Y our projector is desi gned to be in stalled i n one of four possible installation locations: Y our room lay out or personal prefer ence will dictate which installation location y ou select.
Positioning your project or 15 O btaining a preferr ed project ed image size The distanc e from the project or lens to the screen, the z oom setting, and the video format each factor s in the project ed image size. For example, if you ar e using an 120-inch scr een, the reco mmended projection distance is 715 mm and the ve rtical offset is 320 mm.
Connection 16 Connection When connecting a signa l source to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipmen t off befo re making an y conn ections. 2.
Connection 17 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projector . Usually a key combo li ke FN + F3 or CRT/LCD key turns the external display on/off . Locate a function key labeled CRT/LCD or a function key with a mo nitor symbol on the notebook.

The greater volume you require, the greater distance you need to be away from the speaker to prevent the noise.
Operat ion 20 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the po wer c ord int o the project or and int o a power outlet. T urn on th e power outl et switch (where fitted) . Check that th e PO WER i ndicat or light on the projector lights orange after pow er has been applied.
Operation 21 A djusting the pr ojected image A djusting the pr ojection angle The projector is equipp ed wi th 2 adjuster feet. These adjus ters change the image heig ht and projection angle. T o adjust the p rojecto r: Screw the r ear adjust er feet to fine- tune the horizont al angle.
Operat ion 22 Correcting k e ysto ne K eysto ning refe rs to the situation where the pr ojected image is noticeably wider at eithe r the top or bottom.
Operation 23 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is equipped with On-Scr een Displa y (OSD) menus fo r making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. The following example descr ibes how to set the OSD language. 1.
Operat ion 24 Securing the projecto r U sing a securit y cable lock The pr ojector has to be in stalled in a saf e place t o pr event theft. Othe rwise, purchase a lock, such as the K ensington lo ck, to secure th e projector . Y ou can l ocate a Kensington lock slo t on the rear side of the projecto r .
Operation 25 If y ou forget the passw ord If the password functio n is activated, y ou will be asked to ent er the six-digit passwor d eve ry time you turn on the projector . If y ou enter the wrong password, the password e rror message a s pictured to the right displays lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT P ASSW ORD message follows.
Operat ion 26 i. If the password is correct, the OSD menu retur ns to the Security Settings page. Pr ess to highl ight Power On Lo ck and press / to se lect Off . Y ou w ill not have to enter the password next time when tur ning on the projector . Press to highlig ht Splash Screen Lock and pr ess / to select Off .

Operat ion 28 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inactive areas and the white portions are active areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image pr oportionally to fit the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or v ertical width.
Operation 29 Optimizing the i mage Us i n g W a l l C o l o r In the situation where y ou are pr ojecting onto a c olored surface suc h as a painted wall which may not be whit e, the W all Color feature can help c orrect the pr ojected pictu re ’ s colors to prev ent possible c olor diffe renc e between the sour c e and pr ojected pictur es.

Operation 31 3D Color Management In most installatio n situations, color mana gement will not be necessar y , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situ ations where lig hts remain on, or where building exte rnal windows allo w daylight int o the room.

Operat ion 34 Locking contr ol k eys With the control keys on the projector locked, you can prevent y our projector settings from being cha nged accidentally (by chi ldren, for example). When the Panel Key Lo ck is on, no contr ol key s on the pr oject or will operate e xc ept POWER .

If y ou want t o change the password, enter th e Basic p age. The Basic page allo ws y ou to ch ange the passwo rd and set the maxim um number of connected computers.
Operat ion 44 The W ired LAN page allo ws you t o adjust the W ired LAN settings. The W ireless LAN page allows y ou to adjust the Wireless LAN settings. The maximum length for SSID is 16 byt es. Please use different SSI D when more than two projectors are connecting through w ireless LAN.

Operat ion 46 Displaying images through Q Pr esent er Downloading and installing Q Pr esente r Q Pr esenter is an applicatio n ru nning on the host PC. I t helps c onnect y our compu ter t o an available netw ork projector and transfer the desktop c ontents to the netw ork projecto r via local network connection.

Operat ion 50 Shutting down the projector 1. Press POWER on the projector or OFF on the remote control, and a confirmation message will display p rompting y ou. If y ou don't r espond in a few sec onds, the message will disappear . 2. Press POWER a second ti me.

Nev er remo ve an y par ts of the pr ojector ex cept the lamp. C ontact y our dealer if other parts need re placing.
Maintenance 61 Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour Whe n the pr ojecto r is in operati on, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage i s auto matically calculated by the built-in timer . See "Setting Lamp Mode as Economic" below for more information on Economic mode.
Maintenance 62 T iming of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicator lights up r ed or a message ap pears suggesting it is time to replac e the lamp , please install a new lamp or c onsult yo ur dealer . An old lamp may cause a malfunction in th e proj ector and in some instan ces the lamp may e xplode.
Maintenance 63 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, al ways turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.

U se the handle to slo wly pull the lamp out of the projector . • Pulling it too quickly may cause the lamp to break and scatter broken glas s in the projector . • Do not place the lamp in locat ions where water might splash on it, children can reach it, or near flammable materials.
