Introduction 1 3 R emote control effectiv e r ange Infra-Red (IR) remote c ont rol se nsors are located on the front a nd the back of the projector . The remote control must be held at an ang le within 30 de grees perp endicular to the projector's IR remote control sensors to function correctly .

Positioning your projector 15 O btaini ng a preferred projected image s ize The distance from the projector lens t o the screen, th e zoom setting, and the vide o format each factors in the pr ojected ima ge size.
Positioning your projector 16 Shift ing the projection lens The lens shift control pro v ides flexibility for installing your projector . It allo ws the projector to be positione d off the center of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p erc entage of the projected image heig ht or wi dth.
Connection 17 Co nnect ion When c onnecting a signal source to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipment off before making any connections. 2.
Connection 18 • Many noteboo ks do not turn on thei r external video port s when connected to a projector . Usually a key combo like F N + F3 or CRT/LCD key turns the ext ernal display on/off. Locate a function key labeled CRT/LCD or a function key with a monitor symbol on the notebook.

Operation 21 Oper ation Star t ing up the pr oj ector 1. Plug the p o wer cord into the projector and into a power outlet. T ur n on the power outlet sw itch (where fitted). Check tha t the P O W ER indicator l ight on the projector light s orange after power has been applied .
Operation 22 A djus ting the projec t ed ima ge A djust ing the projection a ngle The projector is equipped with 1 qu ick-r elease ad juster foot and 2 rear adjuster feet. T hese adjusters change the image height and projection ang le. T o adjust the projector: 1.
Operation 23 Correcting keystone K e yst oning refers to the situation where the projected image is noticeably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the pr ojector is not p erpendicula r to the screen.
Operation 24 U sin g the menus The projector is equipped with On- Screen Display (OSD) menus for ma king various adjustm ents and setting s. Below is the overv iew of the OSD m enu . The follow ing example descr ibes how to set the OSD lang uage. 1. Press M ENU/EXIT on the projector or remote contr ol to turn th e OSD menu on.
Operation 25 S ecur ing th e pr ojec t or U sin g a secur it y cable lock The projector has to be insta lled in a safe pla ce t o prevent theft. Other wise, pu r chase a lock, such as the K ensin gton lock, t o secure t he pr o jector . Y ou can loc ate a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the projector .
Operation 26 If y ou forget the password If the password function is activated, y ou w ill be as k ed to enter the six-digit pa ssword ev er y time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong password, the password error message as pic tured to the rig ht is display ed lastin g for 3 seconds, and the I NPUT P ASSW ORD message fol lo ws.
Operation 27 Disabling the password function T o disable password protection, go back to the SYSTEM SETU P: Advanced > Security S ettings > Change S ecurity Set tings menu after opening the OSD menu system. Pr es s M ODE/EN TER. The message “INPUT P AS SW OR D ” is displ a yed.
Operation 28 S w itching input sign al The projector can be connec ted to multiple dev ices at the same time. Howev er , it can only display one full screen at a time.
Operation 29 M ag nify ing and sear ching fo r details If you need to find the detai ls on the projected picture, mag nify the picture. U se the direction ar r ow keys for navigating t he picture. • U si ng the remote co ntrol 1. Press Z OOM+/ZOO M- t o display the Zoom bar .
Operation 30 A bout the asp ect ratio • In the pictures below, the black portions ar e inactive areas and the white portions are active areas. • OSD me nus can be displayed on those unu sed black areas. 1. Auto : Sca les an image proport ionally to fit the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or vertical width.
Operation 31 O ptim izing t he image U si ng W all Color In the situation where you are projecting onto a colored surface such as a painted wall which may not be white, the W all Colo r feature can help correct the projected p icture ’ s colors to prevent possible color difference between the sourc e and projected pict ures.

Operation 33 3D Color Management In most installa tion situations, color ma nagement wi ll not be necessar y , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lou nge room situations where lig hts remain on, or where building ext ernal w indows allow daylight into the room.

Operation 48 Displaying ima ges through Q Pr esenter Downlo ading and installing Q Pr esenter Q Pr esenter is an ap plication running on t he host PC. It helps connect your computer to an available network projector and tr ansfer the desktop contents to the network projector v ia local network connec tion.

The Sp ecial Featur e page provides some advanced functions to manage th e projected images. • T o display a full screen, click Full Screen. • T o display a partial screen, click Selectable. Maintenance 62 M aintenance Care of the projector Y our projector needs litt le maintenance. The only thing you need to do on a regula r basis is to keep the lens and case clean. Nev er remov e an y parts of the projector ex cept the la mp . Contact y our dealer if other par ts need repla cing.

Maintenance 64 T im ing of replacing the la mp When the Lamp indic ator lights up r ed or a mes sage appears sugges ting it is time to r eplace the lamp, please insta ll a new lamp or consult your dealer . An old lamp may cause a malfuncti on in the projector and in som e instances the lamp may explode.
Maintenance 6 5 R epl acing the la mp • T o reduce th e risk of electrical sho ck, always turn the pro jector off and dis connect the power cord befor e changing the lamp. • T o reduce th e risk of severe burn s, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
