Introduction 12 Remote contr ol effective range The remote control m ust be held at an angle within 30 degr ees perpendicular to the projector's IR r emote control sensor(s) to function corre ctly . The distance between the remote contr ol and the sensor(s) should not exceed 8 meters (~ 26 feet).

Positioning your project or 14 Obtaining a pr eferr ed pr ojected image size The distance from the pr ojector lens to the screen, the zoom setting, and the video format each factors in the p rojected image size.

Connection 17 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external vide o po rts when connected to a projector . Usually a ke y combo like FN + F3 or CR T/LCD key turns the extern al display on/off. Locate a function k ey labeled CR T / LCD or a function key with a monitor symbol on th e notebook.
Operat ion 18 Operation Star ting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the power cor d into the projector and into a powe r outlet. T urn on the power outlet switch (where fitted). Check that the PO WER in dicator light on t he projector lights orange after power has been applied.
Operation 19 Adjusting the pr ojected image Adjusting the pr ojection angle The projector is equipp ed with 1 quick-release adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster f o ot. These adjusters change the ima ge height and projection angle. T o adjust the projector: 1.
Operat ion 20 Corr ecting k eystone K eystoning ref ers to the situation w here the projected imag e is noticeabl y wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the pr o j ector is not perpendicular to the screen. T o corr ect this, you will need to manually corr ect it following ONE of these steps.
Operation 21 Using the menus The projector is equipp ed with On-Scr een Displa y (OSD) menus for making various adjustment s and settings. The OSD screenshots below are f or refe rence on l y , and may differ fr om the actual design. Below is the ov erview of the OSD menu.
Operat ion 22 Securing the pr ojector Using a security cable lock The projector has to be installed in a safe pl ace to prev ent theft. Otherwise , purchase a lock, such as the K e nsington lock, to secur e the pr ojector . Y ou can locate a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the pr ojector .
Operation 23 the passw o rd r ecall procedure. See "Entering the passw ord recall pr ocedure" on page 23 for details. If you enter an incorr ect pa ssw o rd 5 times in succession, the projector will automatically shut down in a short time. Entering the passw ord re call pr ocedure 1.
Operat ion 24 Press to highlight Power On Lock and press / to select Off . Y ou will not ha ve to enter the passw ord next time when turning on the pr ojector . ii. If the password is incorr ect, the password err or message displays lasting for three seconds, and the message “INPUT P ASS W ORD” displa ys for your retry .
Operation 25 Magnifying and sear ching for details If you need to find th e details on the projected pictur e , magnify the pictur e. Use the direction ar row k eys for na vigating the picture. • Using the remote control 1. Press Digital Zoom+/- to display the Zoom bar .
Operat ion 26 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inac tive ar eas and the white por tions are activ e areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image proportionally to fit the projector's nativ e resolution in its horizontal or vertical width.
Operation 27 Optimizing the image Using W all Color In the situation wher e you ar e pr ojecting on to a colored surface such as a painted w all which ma y not be white, the W all Color feature can help cor rect the pr ojected picture’ s colors to pre vent possible color difference betw een the sour ce and pr ojected pictures.

Operation 29 Setting a pr eferr ed color temperatur e T o set a pr eferr ed color temperature: 1. Highlight Color Temperature and select Warm , Normal or Cool b y pressing / on the projector or remote control. 2. Press to highlight Color Temperature Fine Tuning and pr ess MODE/ ENTER .
Operat ion 30 Please ref er to the illustration to the right for how the colors relate to each other . For example, if you select Red and set its range at 0, only pur e red in the projected picture will be selected. Incr easing its range will include red close to yellow and r ed close to magenta.

Operat ion 32 Hiding the image In order to dra w the audience's full attention to the pr esenter , you can use ECO BLANK on the projector or r emote control to hide the screen image. When this function is activated with an audio input connected, the audio can still be heard.
Operation 33 heating. In cases like this, you should s w it ch to High Altitude mode to solve these symptoms. How ever , this is not to state that th is projector can operate under an y and all harsh or extreme conditions. Adjusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will ha ve an effect on the projector speak er(s).
Operat ion 34 Using the teaching templates The pr ojector provides sev eral preset patterns for various teaching purposes . T o activate the pattern: 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the DISPLAY > Teaching Temp late and press / to select Blackboard or Wh iteboard .
Operation 35 Shutting down the pr ojector 1. Pr ess POWER and a confirmation message will display pr ompting you. If you don't respond in a f ew seconds, the message will disappear .

Signal Power On Sets whether to turn the projecto r directly on without pr essing PO WER or ON when the pr ojecto r is in standby mode and the signal is feed thr o ugh the V GA cable .
Operation 43 Function Description Panel Key Lock Disables or enables all panel k ey functions except POWER on the projector and k eys on the r emote control. See "Locking contr ol ke ys" on page 32 for deta ils . Background Color Sets the background color f or the projector .
Operat ion 44 Function Description Baud Rate Selects a baud rate that is identica l with y our computer’ s so that you can connect the projector us ing a suitable RS-232 cable and update or download the projector’ s firmware. This function is intended for qualified ser vice personnel.
Operation 45 Function Description Current System Status Source Shows the current signal source. Picture Mode Shows the s elected mode in the PICTURE menu. Resolution Shows the nativ e resolution of the input signal. 3D Format Shows the cur rent 3D mode.
Maintenance 46 Maintenance Car e of the projector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The on ly thing y ou need to do on a r egular basis is to keep th e lens and case clean. Nev er remove an y parts of the projector except the lamp . Contact your dealer if other parts need replacing.
Maintenance 47 Lamp information Getting to know the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the durati on (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer . See "Setting Lamp Mode as Economic or SmartEco " below fo r more info rmation on Economic mode .
Maintenance 48 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicat or lights up r ed or a message appears suggesting i t is time to replace the lamp , please install a new lamp or consult your dealer . An old lamp may cause a malfunction in the pr ojector and in some instances the lamp ma y explode.
Maintenance 49 Replacing the lamp • T o reduce the ri sk of electrical shock, alwa ys turn the projector off and disconnect the po wer cord before changing the l amp. • T o reduce the risk of sev e re burns, allow the pr ojector to cool for at least 45 minutes before r eplacing the lamp.
