Connection 20 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projector. Usually a key combo li ke FN + F3 or CRT/LCD key turns the external display on/off. Locate a function key labeled CRT/LCD or a function key with a mo nitor symbol on the notebook.

The g reater volume you require, the g reater distance you need to b e away from the speaker to prevent the noise.
Operation 23 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the po wer cor d into the pr ojector and into a power outlet. T urn on th e power outlet s witch (where fitted) . Check that the PO WER indicato r light on the projector lights orange after pow er has been applied.

Operat ion 26 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is equ ipped with On-Screen Dis play (OSD) me nus for makin g various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. The following example descr ibes how to set the OSD language. 1.
Operation 27 Securing the projecto r U sing a securit y cable loc k The pr ojector has t o be installed in a s afe place t o prev ent theft. Otherwise, pur chase a lock , such as the K ensington l ock, to sec ure the proje ctor . Y o u can loc ate a Kensington lock slot on the rear side of the projector .
Operat ion 28 If y ou forget the passwor d If the password functio n is activated, you will be asked to ent er the six-digit password every time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong password, the password error message as pictured to the r ight is displayed lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT P ASSW ORD message follows.
Operation 29 Disabling the passwor d funct ion T o disable password pr otection, go back to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change Security Settings menu after opening the OSD menu system. Press MODE/ENTER. The mess age “INPUT P ASSW ORD” is displa yed.
Operat ion 30 S w itching input signal The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one full screen at a time.
Operation 31 Magnifyi ng and searching for details If y ou need to fin d the details on the projected pict ure, magnify the pi cture. U se the directio n arrow k eys for navigati ng the picture. • U si ng th e re mote con tro l 1. Press ZOOM+/ZOOM- to displa y the Zoom bar .
Operat ion 32 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inactive areas and the white portions are active areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image pr oportional ly to fi t the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or v ert ical width.
Operation 33 Optimizing the i mage Us i n g W a l l C o l o r In the situation where you ar e projecting onto a colored surface such as a paint ed wall which may not be whit e, the W all Color feat ure can help corr ect the projected pictu re’ s colors t o prev ent possible color differenc e between the sour ce and pr ojected pictur es.

Operation 35 3D Color Management In most installatio n situations, color mana gement will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where ligh ts remain on, or where building exte rnal windows allow da ylight into the room.

Operat ion 38 Locking contr ol keys With the control keys on the projector locked, you can prevent your projector settings from being cha nged accidentally (by chi ldren, for example). When the Panel Key Lo ck is on, no contr ol keys on th e project or will operate ex cept POWER .
Operation 39 1. Press CAPTURE on th e re mo te co nt rol. 2. A confirmation message is displayed. P ress CAPTURE or MODE/ENTER again. 3. The message ' Screen Capturing ... ' is displayed while the proje ctor is processing the picture. Please wait.

Operat ion 48 The W ired LAN page allows y ou to adjust the W ired LAN settings. The W ireless LAN page allo ws you t o adjust the Wireless LAN settings. The maximum length for SSID is 16 byt es. Please use different SSID when more than two projectors are connecting through w ireless LAN.
Operation 49 The Mail p age allows y ou to send ale r t e-mail t o your ITS adm inistrator . Y ou can first try the Mail T est functi on to check if the Alert Mail works. 7. These quick bu ttons are always provided on the web page for you to operate the projector .
Operat ion 50 Displaying images through Q Pr esenter Downloading and installing Q Pr esenter Q Pr esenter is an application ru nnin g on the host PC. It helps c onnect your c ompute r to an available netw ork projector and transfer the deskt op contents t o the network projector via local network connection.

The Sp ecial Feature page provides some advanced fun ctions to manage the projected images. • T o display a full screen, click F ull Screen. • T o display a part ial screen, cl ick Selectable. A square appears on y our screen. Y ou can adju st its siz e and place it where y ou want to project.

Maintenance 64 M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojector Y our pr ojector needs littl e maintenanc e. The only thing you need t o do on a r egular basis is to keep the lens and case clean. Nev er remov e any parts of the projector e xcept the lamp. Cont act your dealer i f other parts need re placing.
Maintenance 65 Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour Whe n the project or is in opera tion, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage is automatica lly calculated by the built-in timer . See "Setting Lamp Mode as Economic" below for more information on Economic mode.
Maintenance 66 T iming of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicator lights up r ed or a message appears sugge sting it is time to re place the lamp , please install a new lamp o r consult y our dealer . Maintenance 67 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock , always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, al low the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.

U se the handle to slo wly pull the lamp out o f the projector . • Pulling it too quickly may cause the lamp to break and scatter broken glas s in the projector . • Do not place the lamp in locat ions where water might splash on it, children can reach it, or near flammable materials.
