Connection 21 Connecting an HDMI de vice Y ou should use an HDMI cable when making connection between the projector and HDMI dev ices. T o conn ec t th e pro jec tor to an H DMI de v ice: 1. T ake an HDMI cable and connect one end to the HDMI output por t of the vide o dev ice.
Connection 22 Connec ti ng an S- V ideo /composi te V ideo source de v ice Examine your Video source device to dete rmine if it has an unused S-V ideo/Video output jack available: • If it has both jacks, use the S-Video output jack for connection as the S-Video terminal provides better pictur e quality than the Video terminal.
Operation 23 Operation Star ting up the project or 1. Plug the po wer cor d into the projecto r and into a power outlet. T urn on the power o utlet switch (where fitted). Chec k that the POWER indicator light on the proje ctor ligh ts orange after power has been applied.
Operat ion 24 7. The projector will start to search for in put signals. The current input signal being scanned displays in the upper left corner of the screen. If the projector d oesn't detect a valid signal, the message "N o Signal" wil l continue displaying until an input signal is found.
Operation 25 Correcting k e yst one K e ystoning refers to the situation where the pr ojected image is noticeably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not perp endicular to the screen. T o correct this, besides adjusting the height of the projector , you w ill need to manually correct it following ONE of these steps.
Operat ion 26 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The proj ector is equipped with On-Scr een Display (O SD) menus for mak ing various adjustments and settin gs. Below is the overvi ew of the OSD menu. The following examp le describ es how to set the OSD langua ge.
Operation 27 Securing the pr ojector U sing a securit y cable loc k The projector has to be installed in a safe place to pr event theft. Otherw ise, purchase a lock, such as the K ensington lock, t o secure the projector . Y ou can locat e a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the projector .
Operat ion 28 If y ou forget the passwor d If the passwor d function is ac tivated, you will be asked to enter the six-digit passwor d every time you turn on the projecto r . If you enter the wrong passwor d, the password erro r message as pictured to the right displays lasting for three seconds, and the INPUT PA S S W O R D messa ge foll ows.

Operation 33 Optimizing the image U sing Wall Color In the situation where you are pr oject ing on to a colored surface such as a painted wall which may not be white, the Wall Color feature can help correct the projected pic ture's colors to pr event possible color difference between the source and projected pictures.
Operat ion 34 Setting the User 1/User 2 mode There are tw o user-definable modes if the current available picture modes are not suitable for your need. Y ou can use one of the pic ture modes (except the User 1/2 ) as a starting point and customize the settings.
Operation 35 Adj u s ti n g Co l o r Lowe r setting produces less saturated colors. If the setting is too high, colors on the image wil l be overpowering, which makes the image unrealistic. Adj u s ti n g Ti n t The hig her the value, the more reddish the picture becomes.
Operat ion 36 The Color Management provides six s ets (RGBCMY) of colors to be adjusted. When you select each color , y ou can independently adjust its range and satur ation according to your preferenc e.
Operation 37 Setting the presentation timer Pr esentation timer can indicate the presentation time on the screen to help you achie ve better time management when giv ing presentations.
Operat ion 38 • U sing the OS D menu 1. Go to the SY STEM SETUP: Basic > Presentation Timer menu and highl ight Off . Pr ess Mo de / En t er . A confirmation message dis plays. 2. Hi ghli ght Ye s and press Mod e / E n t e r to confirm. Y ou will see the message “ Tim er is Off! ” displaying on the screen.
Operation 39 Fre ez i n g t he i m a ge Press on the remote co ntrol to freeze the image. The word " FREEZE " will display in the upper left corner of the screen. T o release the function, press an y key (ex cept the Page Up/Down k ey) on the projec tor or remote cont ro l.
Operat ion 40 Operating in a hig h altitude enviro nment W e recom mend you use th e High Altitude Mode when your environment is between 1500 m –3000 m above sea level, and ambient temperatur e is between 0°C–35°C.
Operation 41 A djusting the sound The sound a djustments made as below wil l have an effect on the projector sp eaker(s). Be sur e you hav e made a c orrect c onnection t o the pr ojector a udio input. See "Connection " on page 18 for how the audio input is connect ed.
Operat ion 42 Shutting do w n the pr ojector 1. Press Power and a c onfirmation message w ill display p rompting you. If you don't respond in a few seconds, the message wil l disappear .

Maintenance 51 M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojecto r Y our projector needs little maintenance. T he only thing you need to do on a regular basis is to keep the lens and case clean. Nev er remove an y par ts of the projector exc ept the lamp. Contact your dealer if other parts need replacing.
Maintenance 52 Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour When the projector is in oper ation, the duration ( in hours) of lamp us age is automatically calculated by the built-in timer .
Maintenance 53 T iming of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicator lights up red or a message appears suggesting it is time to replace the lamp , please install a new lamp or consult y our dealer . An old lamp may cause a malfunction in the projecto r and in so me instances the lamp may explode.
Maintenance 54 R eplacing the lamp • Hg - Lamp contains mercury . Manage in acc ordance with local disposal laws. See www.lamprecycle.org. • T o redu ce the risk of el ectrical shock , always turn t he projecto r off and disconn ect the power cord before c hanging the lamp.
