6 Electr ical Requirements IMPORT ANT : The range must be electric ally grounded in accordance with local codes and ordinances, or in the abse nce of local codes, with the Nationa l Electrical Code , ANSI/NFP A 70, latest edition.
7 Flexible metal appliance connector: ■ If local codes permit, a new CSA design-certified, 4-5 ft (122-152.4 cm) long, ½" (1.3 cm) or ¾" (1.9 cm) I.D., flexible metal appliance connect or may be used for connecting range to the gas supply line.
8 INSTALLATION INSTR UCTIONS Unpack Range 1. Do not use oven door handle to lift or move the range 2. Remove shipping materials, tape and film from ran ge. Keep cardboar d bottom under r ange. 3. Remove oven racks and parts package fr om inside oven. 4.
9 Mak e Gas Connection T ypical rigid pipe connection A combination of pipe fittings mu st be used to connect the range to the existing gas line. Y our connections may be differ ent, according to the supply line type, size and locati on. 1. Apply pipe-joint compound made for use with LP gas to all pipe thread connections.
10 5. Close the broiler door . 6. Remove cooktop burner caps and grates from parts package. Align notches in bur ner caps with pins in bur ner base. Burner caps should be le vel when properly positioned. If burn er caps are not pr operly positioned, surfa ce burners will not light.
11 Check Operation of Cooktop Bur ners 1. If control panel and knobs were removed earlier , re install knobs. 2. Push in and turn eac h surface unit control knob to the “LITE” position. The flame should light within 4 seconds. 3. T ur n control knob to the “HI” position after burner lights.
12 7. Tighten the shutter screw . 8. Reinstall flame spreader and oven tray . Reinstall the oven racks. 9. Close the oven door . 10. Close the broiler door . Complete Installation 1. Check that all parts are now insta lled. If the re is an extra part, go back through the steps to se e which step was skipped.
13 3. Open broiler door and remove broiler pan. The gas pr essure regulator is located in the back right hand corner of the br oiler compartment. IMPORT ANT : Do not remove the gas pr essure r egulator . 4. Remove the cap fr om the gas pressur e regulator using a flat-blade screwdriver .
14 T o Convert Oven Burner 1. Open the oven d oor and r emove oven racks, oven tray and flame spre ader and set aside. 2. Lift oven burner . The orifi ce sp ud is behind the oven burner air shutter . 3. Locate LP gas orifice spud stamped “58” in the package containing literature supplied with the range.
15 4. Remove the cap fr om the gas pressur e regulator using a flat-blade screwdriver . NOTE: Do not remove the s pring beneath the cap. 5. T ur n the cap over so that N or NA T is visible. 6. Reinstall the cap. T o Convert Surface Burners 1. Remove bur ner grate, bur ner caps and bur ners.
T o Convert Oven Burner 1. Open the oven d oor and r emove oven racks, oven tray , and flame spre ader and set aside. 2. Lift oven burner . The orifi ce sp ud is behind the oven burner air shutter . 3. Locate Natural gas orifice spud stamped “51” in the package containing literature supplied with the range.
