6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Controls The control knobs can be s et to anywhere between HI an d LO. Push in a nd turn to se tting . On some models, the surface cook ing area locator shows which element is tur ned on. Use the following chart as a guide when set t ing hea t levels .
7 ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conduction and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with r oun ded, warped, ribbed or dented bo ttoms could cause uneven h eatin g an d poor cooking results. ■ Determin e flatness by placing t he straight edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.
8 Cookw are IMPORT ANT : Do not l eave empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface bur ner . Ideal cookware should have a fl at bottom, straight sides and a well-fittin g lid, and the ma terial should be of medium-to - h eavy thick ness.

11 BAKEWARE Hot air must be able t o c ir culate around food to cook evenly , so allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakew ar e a nd oven walls. Use the following c h art as a guide. 12 Meat Thermometer On models wit h out a tempe rature pr obe, use a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat, poultry and fish. The inter nal temperature, not appe arance, should be used to determine doneness. A mea t thermometer is not s upplied with this ra nge.
13 T o Br o il: 1. Press CUSTOM BROIL. The b roil ov en indi cator light wi ll light up. 2. Press ST AR T/E NTER. The On and Heat oven indi cator lights will li ght up. The temperature setting can be changed any time before or after pr essing ST ART/ENTER.
