Owner’ s Manual T his Owner’ s Manual will acquaint you with the operation and general maintenance of your new spa. W e suggest that you take some time to carefully r eview all sections.

IMPOR T ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS A VOIDING THE RISK TO CHILDREN DANGER: • RISK OF CHILD DROWNING. Extreme caution must be exer cised to prevent unauthorized access by children. T o avoid accidents, ensure that childr en cannot use a spa unless they are supervised at all times.
DANGER: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK • Install spa at least 5 feet (1.5 m) from all metal surfaces. A spa may be installed within 5 feet of a metal surface if each metal surface is permanently connected by a minimum No.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY : • The water in the spa should never exceed 104°F (40°C). W ater temperatures between 100°F (38°C) and 104°F (40°C) are consider ed safe for a healthy adult. Lower water temperatures ar e recommended for extended use (exceeding 10 minutes) and for young children.
N o matter where you install your new spa, it’ s important that you have a solid foundation to support it. Structural damage to the spa, resulting from incorr ect installation or placement on an inadequate foundation, is not covered under the spa’ s limited warranty .
SELECTING THE VOL T AGE FOR YOUR SP A These spas are designed to operate at 230 volts, 60 Hz. When these spas ar e connected to 230 volts, the heater will provide appr oximately 4000 watts of heat when the pump is operating in LOW or HIGH speed and the thermostat is calling for heat.
ST AR T -UP AND REFILL PR OCEDURES 6 Y our spa has been thoroughly tested during the manufacturing process to ensur e reliability and long-term customer satisfaction. A small amount of water may have remained in the plumbing after testing and, as a r esult, may have spotted the spa shell or the spa siding prior to delivery .

11 OPERA TING INSTR UCTIONS SP A-SIDE CONTROL OPERA TION Y our spa-side control panel consists of an LED display and convenient touch pads that allow you to set the water temperature and adjust the skim/filter cycle settings, as well as control the hydr otherapy jets, and light from spa-side.
FIL TER CYCLES Y our spa will automatically tur n the filter cycle on twice each day . When the spa is first powered up the automatic filter cycle will wait 10 minutes before starting. A 1.5 hour filter cycle using the low speed of the jet pump is the programmed filter cycle time.
The Air Control(s) located next to your spa-side contr ol panel allows you to change the power of the jets by regulating the amount of air that is mixed with the water coming out of the jets. HYDRO JETS Magna TM Jets – The larger jets in your spa allow you to r e-direct the jet str eam by changing the position of the nozzle.
Accurate water testing and analysis is an important part of effectively managing your spa water . Y ou must have the ability to t est for: • T otal Alkalinity (T A) • pH • Calcium Hardness (CH) .
BALANCING THE CALCIUM HARDNESS (CH) A. The recommended Calcium Har dness (CH) level for your spa is 150-200 ppm. B. Calcium Hardness is a measur e of the total amount of dissolved calcium in the water . Calcium helps control the corr osive nature of the spa’ s water .
W A TER QU ALITY AND MAINTENANCE 16 spa water . • Monarch CD Ozone Generator - The Monarch high output ozone system is the only ozone purification system appr oved for installation in your Caldera ® Spa.
9. Fill the spa as recommended (see Start-Up and Refill Pr ocedures). 10. Replace the filter lid. 11. Fold the cover back into place. WARNING : Never use the spa with the filter cartridge, basket, or weir r emoved.
WARNING: Never leave an open spa unattended, especially if ther e are children pr esent! BUILDING A SANITIZER ROUTINE During the first month of ownership, measure the sanitizer r esidual daily in order to establish standards for User Load and Usa ge Time versus Sanitizer Needed.
W A TER QU ALITY AND MAINTENANCE 19 SUPPLEMENT AL W A TER MAINTENANCE Proper water sanitation and mineral balance (pH contr ol) are absolutely essential for a complete spa water maintenance program.
5. Car efully loosen the long Kynar ® tubing to the bottom of the ozonator . A liquid substance may be found inside the tubing. If a liquid substance is present, BE CERT AIN NOT TO COME INTO CONT ACT WITH THE LIQUID (SEE WARNING ON PREVIOUS P AGE) . 6.
Question: Why isn’t water chemistry damage cover ed by the warranty? Answer: The chemical levels and water quality of the water in the spa are under your dir ect control. With proper basic car e, the spa will provide many years of hot water relaxation.
22 FIL TER MAINTENANCE At least once a week, check and clean the skimmer basket and weir to ensure pr oper filter flow . Remove leaves, foreign matter , and debris. It is very important to keep your spa filter cartridge clean and free of particles to ensure pr oper water flow .
MAINTENANCE 23 CARE OF THE SP A PILLOWS Spa pillows will provide years of comfort if tr eated with care. They have been positioned above the water level to minimize the bleaching effects of chlorinated water and other spa water chemicals. T o extend their life, whenever the spa shell is being cleaned, the spa pillows should be removed and cleaned.
Important reminders: • DO remove snow buildup to avoid br eakage of the foam core from the additional weight of the snow . • DO lock cover lock straps to secure the cover when the spa is not in use. • DO NOT drag or lift the spa cover using either the flaps or the cover lock straps.
WINTERIZING YOUR SP A If the spa is located where fr eezing temperatures occur , and you do not intend to use your spa for an extended period, follow steps 1 through 7 outlined in “DRAINING YOUR SP .
