When the foamy head disappears quickly and beer lack s its usual zestful brewery-fresh flavor, this is considered fl at.
6) Contaminated air source • If possible/applicable, change to CO2 gas as a pressure source. • Filter all air af ter it leaves compressor. • Oil fumes from compressor or kitchen grease fumes will caus e flat beer when pumped int o beer system. • Always draw fresh air f rom an outside source to compressor.
2) Contaminated Air Line, and/or defective Thomas or Tongue Vents • Air hoses, air lines and ve nts, should be examin ed, and if contaminated, replaced. • Dirty air lines shou ld be w ashed with a good cleaning compound, normall y used for cleaning coils, and then rinsed clean.
5) Beer is too warm • Temperature at faucet must always be at least 2 degrees colder than at barrel. • In sweet-water refrigerated, or ice-water system, faucet shank must alwa ys be submerged. • In Cold Air System, the coldest air from the blower must first be directed to t he faucet, and then circulated back to pre-cooler.
