Quic k Installation 1 Connect power cor d Connect the power cord to a properly grounded A C outlet. 2 Connect video cable Make sure both the monitor and computer are turned OFF . Connect the video cable to the computer . Macintosh ® users: Models older than G3 require a Macintosh adapter .
Using the Monitor Setting the Timing Mode Setting the timing mode is important for maximizing the quality of the screen image and minimizing eye strain. The timing mode consists of the res ol uti on (example 1024 x 768) and r efresh rate (or v ertical frequency; example 75 Hz).
Adjusting the Screen Image Use the buttons on the front control panel to display and adjust the OnV iew ® controls which display on the screen. The OnV iew controls are e xplained at the top of the next page and are def ined in “ Main Menu Controls ” on page 8.
Do the follo wing to adjust the screen image: 1 T o display the Main Menu, press button [1]. 2 T o select a control you want to adjust, press the arrow b uttons on the front control panel of your monitor and scroll through the choices. When the control you want is highlighted, press b utton [2].
Main Menu Contr ols Adjust the menu items sho wn below b y using the up I and do wn J buttons. Control Explanation Contrast adjusts the difference between the image background (black le vel) and the foreground (white le vel). Brightness adjusts the background black level of the screen image.
Tr a p e z o i d adjusts the top and bottom of the screen image until they ha ve equal width. P arallelogram slants the vertical edges of the screen image until they are parallel. Rotation rotates the entire screen image. Degauss remov es the build-up of magnetic f ields that can cause irregular colors to appear around the edges of screen images.
Memory Recall returns adjustments to the original factory settings if the display is operating in a factory preset timing mode listed in this user guide.
