W ARNING: T o reduce risk of AC adapter (po wer supply) f ailure: • A void placing the A C adapter near heat sources or in direct sunlight. • K eep A C adapter out of reach of small children. • Do not allow w ater , moisture or foreign objects near the A C adapter .
• A v oid placing this lamp and AC adapter in areas that are e xposed to direct sunlight or close to heat-radiating products, such as heaters. Do not place the lamp or A C adapter on the top of appliances that radiate heat.

Unpacking Please check the shipping carton for the f ollowing items: Selecting a location • Place your V erilux ® Rise & Shine ® Natural Alarm Clock ® Bedside Lamp on a table or other flat surf ace near your bedside.
IMPORT ANT – Installation of batteries, while not required, is recommended prior to installation of the shade and bulb . Installation of batteries is required for bac kup operation.
Connecting the AC Adapter 1. Plug the A C adapter cable into the bac k of the power connector labeled DC 12V/5A (see A). 2. Plug the power supply cord into the A C adapter , (see B) and then into an A C wall outlet (see C). Note: When AC adapter is plugged in, the lamp will not draw any power from the batteries.
IMPORT ANT – This lamp may be sensitive to high levels of static electricity . If the lamp powers off or the display becomes irregular , r eset by unplugging the power cord for a minimum of 15 seconds.
IMPORT ANT – Bef ore setting the time, confir m that the W AKE alar m setting is off - Light, Sounds lights must be OFF Setting the clock 1. Press & hold the SET button until the HOUR begins to flash, then release. 2. T o set the HOUR, press the ▼ or ▲ button until you ha v e reached the desired hour .
Setting the W AKE alar m The Rise & Shine ® Natural Alarm Clock ® Bedside Lamp allows y ou to wak e gradually , using one of the pre-set wake time dela y cycle options (5, 15, 30, 60 minutes), in combination with energizing Light, Sounds , or a combination of Light and Sound.
SELECTING THE ALARM TIME 1. Press & hold the SET button until the HOUR begins to flash, then release. 2. T o set the alar m HOUR , press the ▼ or ▲ button until y ou hav e reached the desired hour . T o confir m, press the SET button – the MINUTE flashes .
Using the SNOOZE/RESET function There are three wa ys of switching off the alarm – (Snooze, 24 Hour Alar m Reset, Canceling the Alarm.) How ev er , if the alar m is not tur ned off after at the end of the alar m cycle, it will contin ue to operate f or approximately 30 min utes (then tur n off automatically).
Using the SLEEP function The Rise & Shine ® Natural Alarm Clock ® Bedside Lamp allo ws you to f all asleep gradually , using one of the pre-set Sleep Time Cycles (5, 15, 30, 60 minutes).
Sounds Function 16 Using the SOUNDS function The Rise & Shine ® Natural Alarm Clock ® Bedside Lamp allo ws you to listen to 8 pre-programmed nature sounds at any time: • Birds • Harbor • T own • Brook • Surf • F orest • Rain • Wind 1.
Using the COLOR MODE function The lamp f eatures a Color Changing Display that can be set to f ade between se v en different colors or loc ked on one color . SEVEN COLOR F ADE • This is the default setting. When the lamp is first plugged in the backlight is set to se ven color f ade mode.
