1 Safety precautions 15 Heating foods and liquids • Do not leave your a ppliance unattended when heati ng or cooking food in containers that are made of pl astic, paper or other flam mable materials. The containers can melt or ignite. • Do not heat bevera ges or food that conta in alcohol.
1 Safety precautions 16 • The cooking time depends on the quantity, na ture and initial tempe rature of the food, as well the dis hes being used. Always start with the shorter cooking time given to avoid overcooking the food. Otherwise, smaller quantities or food wi th a low moisture content ca n dry out and possibly ignite.
1 Safety precautions 17 1.7 Note on accessories Turntable roller and glass tu rntable • You should use the appl iance at all ti mes and exclusiv ely with the turntable roller and the glass turntable su pplied. • You should never place a vessel or co ntainer other than the glass turntable directly on the turntable roller.
1 Safety precautions 18 Food cover • Use the fo od cover with the Power&Fa vorit and micr owave modes only. The food cover could otherwise melt. Cookware • You should ensure that the cookware doe s not touch the sides of the cooking space as it rotates.

2 Appliance description 22 2.3 Accessories Turntable rolle r and glass t urntable You should always use the turntab le roller and the glass tu rntable in combinat ion with the other accesso ries. ➤ Place the turntable roller in the fi tting in the floor of the cooking space.
2 Appliance description 23 CombiCrunch grip ➤ Use the CombiCrunch grip for taking the Combi- Crunch plate out of the cooking space. Wire rack When using the combi mode, you should never place metal dishware on the wire rack. Otherwis e, arcing can occur w hich will damage the ap pliance.
2 Appliance description 24 2.4 Ventilation fan The fan switches on automaticall y during operation. The fan can continue to run at the end of operation to cool th e electronic comp onents. During this time, the appliance door can be open ed and the food removed.
25 3 Operating the appliance The operating modes, the opera ting ti me, the switch-off time and various other functions can be sele cted by pressing the appropriate button onc e or more. • The symb ol for the function se lected illuminates or flashes.

28 4 User settings You can adjust the settings. ➤ With the appliance switched of f, hold the adjusting knob depressed for 5 seconds. – appears in the digital display. ➤ Press the adjusting knob to confirm. – appears in the digital display for «Start protection on».
4 User settings 29 4.1 Start protection Start protection p revents an opera ting mode being started accidentally. If the length of time be tween closing the appli ance door and starting the appliance is longer than 1 minute, start prot ection is automatically activated.
30 5 Time functions The following time functions are availabl e: •T i m e • Timer – can be used at any time an d independently of all o ther functions • Operating time – time-controlled switch-off of the appliance • Delayed start – time-con trolled switch -on and switch-off of the appliance 5.

Setting ➤ Select the desired operating mode. ➤ If the right digital display does not flas h, press the button. – A corresponding recommended value appe ars in the right digital display.

6 Operating modes 41 6.2 PerfectDefrost This operating mode is for perfectly defrosting food that ha s a net weight of 50–2500 g. An automatic programme is defined for the following 5 food groups: Attach the sticker (supplied) with the 5 food groups as shown: ➤ Select the operating mode.

44 7 Tips on settings Symbols used 7.1 Optimal use The recommended setti ngs given in recipe books are likely to be too high and the accessories not optimal for this ap plia nce. In the following tables, you will find information to help you get the best use out of the appliance.
7 Tips on settings 45 7.2 Heating up ➤ When heating liquids, place a te aspoon in the ve ssel to prevent de layed boiling (or superboiling). ➤ Stir or, turn the f ood halfway through ti me. ➤ After heating food up, allow to sta nd for about 2 minutes.
7 Tips on settings 46 7.3 Defrosting ➤ Stir or turn the food halfway through the defrosting time. ➤ The defrosting time depend s on the shape and quantity of the food. ➤ When freezing food , try to make as flat and small a sha pe as possible. ➤ For perfect defrosting, allow the f ood to stand about 4 m inutes after defrosting.
