Follow these steps: About the digital security code This cordless teleph one uses a digital security code to pr event unauth orized access to your base unit. This security code pr events other cor dless handsets from m aking calls through your base unit.

GETTING STARTED [ 16 ] Entering Y our Ar ea Code If you enter a 3-di git area code n umber in the “ Area Code ” option, your local ar ea code does n ot appear in Caller ID messages . For calls received from outsi de your local area cod e, you will see a full 10-digit n umber .

On the han dset, you may also use the speak erphone while talkin g on your phone . Usin g the han dset speakerphon e is called “hands-free conversati on” . This featur e allows you to easily communi cate while performing oth er tasks, such as cookin g.
BASICS BASICS [ 1 9 ] Redialing a Call The last thr ee phone n umbers dialed can be quickly r edialed. Redialing from Standb y Mode 1) Press r edial/p . The phon e number that was last dialed appears on the display . 2) Press r edial/p again. Each press of r edial/p will display one o f the last three n umbers dialed.
[ 20 ] 1) When the ph one is in the stan dby mode , press menu/mute . 2) Press + or - to move the poin ter to “ Ringer Volume ”. 3) Press select/ch . 4) Press + or - to move the poin ter through the rin ger settings (Ring er Off, Ringer Low , or Ringer Hi gh).

[ 22 ] Adjusting the Earpiece and Handset Speaker V olume Y ou can select differen t volume levels for th e handset earpiece an d the handset speak er (V olume Low , V olume M edium, Volum e High, and V olume M aximum). The volum e can only be adjusted durin g a call.
BASICS [ 23 ] T one Dialing Switch-over Some teleph one companies use equipm ent that requir es pulse dialin g (sometimes r eferred to as rotary di aling). If you need to enter ton e dialing di gits, you can switch-over to tone di aling durin g the call.
BASICS [ 24 ] 3-W ay Conferencing The ph one permits 3-way conversation s between the handset, base , and an outsi de line . When speaking on the handset 1) Press (talk) on the base to initi ate the 3-way conversation. 2) T o hang up, press (talk) on the base .

Y our phon e stores nam es/numbers in the ph onebook mem ory location, and you can sear ch nam es in alphabetical ord er . Y ou have a total of 100 locati ons that can be used for th e phon ebook (includin g the Speed dials) an d Caller ID messages .

When th e telephone rin gs, the Caller ID featur e allows you to view the caller’s n ame and phon e number on the display bef ore you answer th e phone . CALLER ID [ 38 ] V iewing the Caller ID List The Caller ID list stor es informati on for incomin g calls – even unanswer ed calls. Y ou can store 100 o f the Caller ID messag es and Phon ebook locations (in cluding Speed Di als) in total. Y ou can view th e Caller ID list during a call or wh en the phon e is in the standby mode.

ADDITIONAL INFORMA TION [ 46 ] The di gital security code is an id entificati on code used to connect th e handset and th e base unit. Norm ally , setting th e code is not n ecessary . The first tim e you charge your handset, th e security code is automati cally set.
