1 Wel co m e Congratulat ions on your purchase o f the Uniden TC X905 accessory handset an d charger . Y ou can place this fully featured cor dless handset anywhere your home has AC power . Note: Illustrations in this manual are us ed for explanation purposes.
2 Comp atible Bases Y our phone is comp at ible with the following Uniden 5.8 GHz Digital Expandable Syste ms: the TRU9 seri es (TRU9460, TRU9465, TRU9466, TRU9480, TRU9485, TRU9488 , TRU9496), th e T.
3 Inst alling the Ba ttery Follow the steps below to inst all the rechargeable batte ry p a ck. 1. Using the finger indentation, press in on the batt e ry case cover and slide it down t o remove it. 2. Plug the batt ery connector into the battery compartment jack.
4 Charging the Accessory Handset The handse t is powered by a rechargeable batter y pack that automatically re charges when th e handset is placed in the charger . 1. Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN 9V jack and to a 120V AC outlet that is not control led by a wa ll swi tch.
5 For Base Models TRU9460, TRU9465, TRU946 6, TRU9480, TRU948 5: T o register to a TRU9 series base, simply place t he accessory handset in the base. While t he handset is registering, HANDSET REGISTERING w ill appear in the LCD. When REGIST RA TION COMPLET E.

7 Resetting Handset s If you want to register the handset to a d ifferent base or replace a handset with another one, you must first clear the registration information from t he base and the handset. 1. Press and hold [] and [#] for at least 5 seconds, until the SYSTEM RESET menu appears.

10 Using the Four-way Function Key Y our handset has a four-wa y function key th at allows you to move the cur sor (or highlighted ar ea) on the display and acce ss the most commonly used featur es at the touch of a button. B y moving this key to the left, you open the Phonebook.
11 If two letters in a row use the same number key , enter the first letter , th en use [right ] or [lef t] on t he four-way functi on key to move the cur sor to the n ext position to e nter the second letter . Fo r example, to en ter "Movies": 1.
12 Using Y our Accessory Handset Making and Re ceiving Calls Adjusting the V olume Using Caller ID an d Call Wai t ing Y ou can store up to 100 Caller ID numbers in your han dset. Y our phone share s a total of 100 memor y entries between your Phoneboo k and Caller ID.
13 Note: Y ou must s ubscri b e to Caller ID and Call W aiting through your telephone provider . Press [] to open the Caller ID list. The first t hing you will see is the summary screen.
14 Press [] to ent er the phoneboo k. Once in the phon ebook, you have the f ollowing options: Scroll through the entries T o scroll through the phonebook from A to Z, press [] .
15 Redialing a Number Y ou can quickly redia l the last 3 nu mbers dialed on th e handset. 1. With the phone in standby , press [redial/p ause] or the REDIAL soft key to open the redial l ist. 2. Use [] and [] to scroll through the redial list. 3. When you find the number you want t o dial, press [ /flash] or [] .
16 Using Hold, Conference, T ransfer and Intercom Put a call on hold Press [int'com /hold] . If you leave a caller on hold for more than five minutes, the call wi ll be disconnected. T o return to the party on hold, press [/ f l a s h ] or [] . Join a call in progress T o join a call already in progress, press [ /flash ] or [] .
17 Accessing Y our Answering Machine If your base has an answering machine, you can use your handset to get your messages and change yo ur answering machine setup. T o access the answ ering machine, press t he soft key . The answering machine annou nces the number of new and old messages a nd then waits for your next command.
18 Accessing V oicemail If you subscribe to a voice mail ser vice, you can program your access number into your handset and access your voice mail at the touch of a button. 1. Press the MENU soft key . Sel ect HANDSET SETUP and EDIT VOICE MAIL submenu.
19 Battery Replacem ent and Handling With normal u sage, your batt ery should last abo ut one year . When the talk time becomes short, even after the battery is recharged, p lease replace the battery . A replacement Uniden adapter or battery may be purcha sed by calling Un iden's Parts department.
20 Clean the Batte ry Cont acts T o maintain a go od charge, clean the charging contacts on the handset on ce a month. Dampen a cloth with plain water . Gently rub the damp cloth over th e charging contacts until all visible dirt is removed. D ry the contacts thoroughly before ret urning the hand set to the char ging cradle.
