http://www.TYAN.com 32 2.5 - Heat sink Installation After installing the processor, you shou ld proceed to install the heat sink. The CPU heat sink will ensure that the processor do not overheat and continue to operate at maximum performance for as long as yo u own them.
http://www.TYAN.com 33 2.6 - Thermal Interface Material There are two t ypes of thermal interface materials designed for use with the processors. The most common material comes as a small pad attached to the heat sink at the time of purchase. There should be a protective cover over the material.
http://www.TYAN.com 34 2.7 - Finishing Installing the Heat sink After you have finished inst alling the heat sink onto the process or and socket, attach the end wire of the fan (which should alr eady be attached to the heat sink) to the motherboard. T he following diagram ill ustrates how to connect fans onto the motherboard.
http://www.TYAN.com 35 2.8 - Tips on Installing Motherboard in Chassis Before installing yo ur motherboard, make sure your chassis has the necessary motherboard s upport studs instal led. These studs are usu ally metal and are gold in color. Usually, the chassis manufact urer will pre- install the support studs.
http://www.TYAN.com 36 Some chassis’ include plasti c studs instead of metal. Although the plastic studs are usable, TYAN ® recommends using metal studs with screws that will fasten the motherboard more securely in plac e. Below is a chart detailing what the most common motherboard studs look l ike and how they should be install ed.
http://www.TYAN.com 37 2.9 - Installing the Memory Before installing memory, ensure that t he memor y you have is compatible with the motherboard and process or. Check the TYAN ® Web site at: www.T YAN.com for details of the type of memory recommended for yo ur motherboard.

http://www.TYAN.com 40 2.10 - Attaching Drive Cables Attaching Serial ATA Cables S7002 is equipped with 6 Serial ATA (SATA) channels. Co nnections for the drives are very simple. There is no need to set Master/Slave jumpers on SAT A drives. If you are in need of SATA/SAS cables or power adapters pleas e contact your place of purchase.
http://www.TYAN.com 41 2.11 - Installing Add-In Cards Before installing add-in cards, it’s helpful to kno w if they are fully compatible with your motherboard. For this reas on, we’ve provided the diagrams below, showing the slots that may a ppear on your motherboard.
http://www.TYAN.com 42 2.12 - Installing I/O Shield Before you connect extern al devices, check your mother board package a nd take out the I/O shield.
http://www.TYAN.com 43 2.13 - Connecting External Devices Your motherboard supports a numb er of different interfaces through connecting peripherals. See the follo wing diagrams for the details. Note: Peripheral dev ices can be plugged st raight into any of these ports but softw are may be required to complete the installation.
http://www.TYAN.com 44 2.14 - Installing the Power Supply There are three power connectors on your S7002.The S7002 sup ports EPS- 12V/SSI power supplies.
