33 4. SE RI A L P ORT A ND NE T W ORK HOST Introd uction The Console Se rver enables access and c ontrol of serially-attached devices and network -at tached devices ( hosts ). The Administrat or must conf ig u re access privileges for each of t hese devices, and spec ify the services that can be used to co ntrol the devices.
