8 W elcome to T oshiba Thank you for purchasing this T oshiba LCD TV , one of the most innov ativ e LCD TVs on the market. This digital television is capable of recei ving analog basic, digital basic and digital unencrypted cable tele vision programming by direct connection to a cable system providing such programming.

1 Over view of cable types Cables can be purchased from most stores that sell audio/ video devices. Before purchasing an y cables, be sure of connector types required by your de vices and the length of each cable.

Chapter 3: Using the remote control Using the remote control to control your other devices If you hav e a non-T oshiba device or a T oshiba de vice that the remote control is not preprogrammed to operate, you must first program the remote control to recognize the device (if you hav e not already done so) ( pages 24–26).

Chapter 3: Using the remote control Remote control codes In some cases you may not be able to operate your de vice with the TV remote control. Y our other device may use a code that is not recognized by the TV remote control. If this happens, use the device’ s remote control.

Main menu layout The tables belo w and on the next page provide a quick ov erview of your TV’ s menu system. T o open the main menus (illustrated below), press on the remote control or TV control panel.

Follo w the steps below to program channels into the TV’ s channel memory .
Chapter 5: Setting up your TV 1 Manually deleting channels in the channel memor y There is no method really to delete the channel memory except e xecuting Auto Ch Search with a empty RF input. But there is a simple way to disable undesired Channel.

Using the advanced picture settings features Using Dynamic Contrast When dynamic contrast is set to ON , the TV will detect changes in the picture quality that af fect the appearance of your contrast settings and then automatically adjust the video.
