Connections and initial set up 3 EN EN 1. Unplug the antenna cable fr om your TV set and plug it into the ANTENNA-CABLE IN sock et of your DTH 8005. 2. Using the coaxial cable supplied, connect the ANTENNA-CABLE OUT sock et of the DTH 8005 to the g antenna sock et of your TV set.

It can pla y the majority of 8 cm and 12 cm discs, with the exception of D VD Rom, D VD Ram, and D VD audio .

In such a case, star t a new channel sear ch from the installation menu. This set-up deletes all stor ed channels and resets all the channels that y our DTH 8005 can receiv e .

It allows 3 de vices to be contr olled: your DTH 8005, a tele vision set and a satellite or cable receiv er . Thus you ha v e r emote contr ol of all these devices b y using the 3 modes: D VD , TV or SA T .

Recor ding functions 22 Pr o gramming a r ecording Y ou can r ecord a futur e programme by pr ogramming its recor ding time . For this you ha v e the choice of manual pr ogramming or Naviclick pr ogramming, explained on page 24. Open the D VD tra y by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE k ey .

Recor ding functions 27 EN EN Sor t by Title This is an alphabetic sorting. The titles beginning with punctuation signs are listed first, f ollow ed by those with digits and then those with letters, beginning with the letter . Note: sor ting by title displays a char acter char t.
Recor ding functions 28 Assign or Change the Categ or y of a title This function allows y ou to allocate a title (or to change it) to a categor y in the list pr oposed by the DTH 8005. Select Chang e Genr e and press OK . • Select the category using the or ke y and confirm with OK .
29 Pla ying a disc EN EN Discs y ou can recor d • D VD+R, D VD+R W - Most D VD+R discs (recordable once) and D VD+R W discs (re-r ecordable) of 4.7 Gb capacity . Recommended discs : The following list includes compatible brands of discs that ha ve been tested with y our DTH 8005.

It allows y ou to edit the recordings made and more particularly to: • Insert chapter bookmarks (D VD+R W) T o position marks in order to easily find y our fav ourite passages.

42 Menus Disc menu The Disc menu is only accessible if a disc is inserted in y our DTH 8005. This menu allows access to the list of titles of the Disc Title Menu or the images menu of the Pla y er Menu f or y our recor ded discs (D VD+R, +R W).

This menu permits y ou to: • Rename Disc , allo ws y ou to change the name chosen by the DTH 8005 (Thomson xx) for a name of your choice selected using a table of alphabetic characters (page 44).

Y ou can change the language of the DTH 8005 menus, the language of the disc menus, the language of the dialogues and that of the subtitles. In the menu, choose your pref erred language for dialogues and subtitles.
Menus 48 Subtitles (Languag e of D VD subtitles) Certain discs pr opose sev eral languages for subtitles. The default language is the the one you selected during installation (page 5) if this language is also offer ed on the disc being pla yed.
Menus 49 EN EN P ar ental contr ol menu Y our DTH 8005 has a child lock function which enables y ou to restrict access to certain D VDs. The discs whose content ma y be deemed unsuitable for y our children will ther efore not be visible unless a code that y ou ha ve pre viously chosen is entered.
Menus 50 Ratings limits This function mak es it possible to restrict viewing of certain D VD discs by pr ogramming a restriction on y our DTH 8005. This function can only be used with D VD discs provided with the function. Y our DTH 8005 pr ovides ratings limits on a scale of 1 to 8.
