Recor ding functions 27 EN EN Recor ding fr om a memor y card Y our DMR allows you to cop y JPEG images or mp3 files to y our hard disc fr om a memor y card read in a pla yer connected to the front USB sock et. All the files in the memor y card will be recor ded on the hard disc of y our DMR.
Recor ding functions 28 Recor ding fr om a connected device Y our DMR allows you to cop y TV pr ogrammes (satellite or cable) sequences, or video films from a connected device.
Recor ding functions 29 EN EN Recor ding fr om a CD-ROM Y our DMR allows you to cop y JPEG images or mp3 files to y our hard disc. Y ou can record these files from a CD-Rom. All the files on the CD-R will be recor ded on the hard disc of y our DMR. Y ou can then rename and/or delete them (manage your r ecording on page 43).

D VDs are high density optical discs on which high quality pictur e and audio are r ecorded by means of digital signals. Region code number - Y our DMR responds to the regional management information r ecorded on D VDs.

Some banners pr ovide access to disc pla yback functions (for D VDs, CDs, VCDs, etc .) while others giv e you information on the channels and r elated functions.

When an icon is selected it is highlighted. The line under the banner is an information and instruction line.

Pla ying a disc 37 EN EN Camera angles (D VD) A few D VD discs contain scenes shot from various diff erent angles. If a disc being pla yed back off ers different camera angles the icon in the banner will show the number of the angle on the scr een.
Pla ying a disc 38 Pla ying imag e (JPEG) or music (mp3) files on a CD Rom Y our play er can pla y JPEG files with a resolution of up to fiv e million pixels. Howev er bey ond 400,000 pix els there is no per ceptible impro vement in the quality of pictur es displa yed on y our TV screen.

40 Menus Disc menu The Disc menu is only accessible if a disc has been loaded into the DMR. This menu enables you to customise certain settings or actions for disc pla yback. The options suggested by the Disc menu depend on the natur e of the discs and/or files.
Menus 41 EN EN Video menu This menu giv es you access to all the r ecordings y ou made from TV channels or devices connected to your DMR’ s front or rear A V sockets. In the Main menu select the Disc line with k eys, and press OK to validate. Note: In pro gress shows that a TV programme is being recorded on the hard disc .
Menus 42 Music menu (JUKEBO X function) This menu giv es you access to the mp3 Audio recordings copied fr om a CD-R or memory card read in an external r eader connected to the USB sock et on the front of y our DMR. In the Main Menu select the Music line with k eys , and press OK to confirm .

Menus 44 Languag e Menu Y our DMR gives you a selection of languages to choose fr om. Y ou can change the language of the DMR menus, the language of the disc menus, the language of the dialogues and that of the subtitles. In the menu, choose y our prefer red language for dialogues and subtitles.
Menus 45 EN EN Subtitles (Languag e of D VD subtitles) Certain discs propose sev eral languages for subtitles. The default language is the the one you selected during installation (page 5) if this language is also offer ed on the disc being pla yed.
Menus 46 P ar ental contr ol menu Y our DMR has a child lock function which enables you to restrict access to certain D VDs. The discs whose content ma y be deemed unsuitable for y our children will ther efore not be visible unless a code that you ha ve pre viously chosen is entered.
Menus 47 EN EN Ratings limits This function mak es it possible to restrict vie wing of certain DVD discs b y programming a restriction on y our DMR. This function can only be used with D VD discs provided with the function. Y our DMR pr ovides ratings limits on a scale of 1 to 8.
Menus 48 Options menu The Options menu in the Setup menu off ers you settings to configur e certain useful functions and optimise the performances of y our DMR to match those of the devices connected to it. 1. From the main men u select the Setup line with the ke ys, then confirm with OK .
Menus 49 EN EN A V1 output Choose the RGB , S-Video or Video signal, depending on the device connected to the A V1 Scar t sock et (usually TV sets). If you don’ t know which type of signal is accepted by y our TV set, tr y each setting to get the best result.

Fur ther informa tion 52 No sound • Check that the DTS, Dolby Digital and MPEG settings are suited to the specifications of the device connected to the digital audio sock ets (coaxial or optical) (page 48). The sound is ver y lo w or inaudible • The sound of the TV set has been cut or set at a very low level.

Fur ther informa tion 55 EN EN NexTVie w Channels The number of channels offering the NexTVie w service is constantly increasing. At the time of printing these instructions, the channels diffusing NexTView w ere as sho wn below .
