15 Install the SIM card Install the SIM card To take full advantage of your A cer M900 Smartphone ’s tele- phony capabilities, you must install a SIM card. The SIM card holder is located beneath the battery. Open the battery compartment Gently, but firmly slide the battery cov er down to release it.

Acer M900 Smartphone User Guide 18 Turn on for the first time To turn on your Acer M900 Sm artphone for the first time, press and hold the power button until the system bootup screen appears. You will be required to e nter the Mas- ter Password (default is four zeroes: 0000) to complete the setup process.

25 Before making a ca ll Chapter 2: Making Calls This chapter shows you how to make voice and video calls, and the various options available to you during your call. Before making a call The phon e function needs to be tu rned on before you can make voice and vid eo calls; you can turn the phone on from the Comm.

27 Make a voice/ video call Dial from the Speed Dial Any contacts in your contact list will auto- matic ally be added to your Spee d Dial. Tap Speed Dial beneath the Ho me screen an d tap the contact you wish to call. You can opt to arrange numbe rs alphabetically or by the fre- quency with which you call the n umbers.

35 The stylus Chapter 3: Input Devices This section will take you throu gh the various in put methods available to you on your Acer M900 Sm artphone. The stylus The stylus is used to select items and enter information. On your Acer M900 Smartphone, the stylus replaces the mouse.

37 The onscreen keyboard The onscreen keyboard You can activate an onscree n keyboard in certain applicatio ns when entering da ta. Tap the ke yboard icon at the bottom of the screen to display the keyboard. Tap again to hid e the keyboard. Tap the arrow next to the keyboard symbol to select different input options.

43 The messaging screen Chapter 4: Messaging This chapter shows you how to set up and use the SMS, MMS and email fun ctions of your Acer M9 00 Smartph one. The messaging screen All SMS, MMS and em ail messages are accessed via the messag- ing screen. To access the messaging screen, tap Start > Messaging > Mes- sages .
