RS-232 Interface 7 - 13 Hardware Handshaking (continued) Software Handshaking This parameter of fers control of the data tr ansmission process in addition to, or instead of, th at offered by hardware handsha kin g. There are five options. If Software Handshaking and Hard ware Handshaking are both enab led, Hardware Handshaking t akes precedence.
7 - 14 DS6708 Digital Scanne r Product Reference Guide Software Handshaking (continued) - XOFF is received during a transm ission. Data transmission then stops after sending the current byte. When the digit al scanner receives an XON characte r , it sends the r est of the d ata message.
RS-232 Interface 7 - 15 Host Serial Response T ime-out This parameter specifies how long the digit al scanner wait s for an ACK, NAK, or CTS before de termining that a transmission error has occurred. This only applies wh en in one of the ACK/NAK Soft wa re Handshaking modes, or R TS/CTS Hard ware Handshaking option.
7 - 16 DS6708 Digital Scanne r Product Reference Guide RTS Line State This parameter set s the idle state of the Serial Host R TS line. Scan a bar code below to select Low RT S or High RTS line st ate.
RS-232 Interface 7 - 17 Intercharacter Delay This parameter spe cifies th e inter character delay inserted between character transmissions. * Minimum: 0 msec Low: 25 msec Medium: 50 msec High: 75 msec.
7 - 18 DS6708 Digital Scanne r Product Reference Guide Nixdorf Beep/LED Options When Nixdorf Mode B is selecte d, this indicates when the digit al scanner should beep and turn on it s LED after a decode. Ignore Unknown Characters Unknown characters ar e characters the host does not recognize.
