Position the heatsink in such a way that the heatsin k fan wires are cl osest to the CPU fan and ar e not interfere d with other components.

Chapter 4: BIOS 4-1 Chapter 4 BIOS 4-1 Introduction This chapter describes the Phoenix BIOS™ Setup utility for the C2SBM-Q.The Phoenix ROM BIOS is stored in a ash chi p an d ca n be easily upgraded using a oppy disk-based program.

4-12 C2SB C-Q User's Manual Memory Cache Cache System BIOS Area Use thi s sett ing to desig nate a reser ve area in the system memory to b e used as a System BIOS buf fer and allow BIOS to write (cache) data into this reserved memory area.
Chapter 4: BIOS 4-13 into L1, L2, L3 cache inside the CPU to speed up CPU operations. Select Uncached to disable this function. Select Write T hrough to allow data to be cached into the buffer and written into the system memory at the same time. Select Write Protect to prevent data from being written into the extended memory area above 1 MB.

Latency Timer This setting allows you to set the clock rate for Bus Master . A high-priority , high- throughout device may benet from a greater clock rate.

COM 3 This setting allows you to decide how the system controls COM 3. The options are Enabled (user dened), Disabled, Auto (BIOS controlled) and OS Controlled.
Chapter 4: BIOS 4-17 Mode This feature allows you t o specify the par allel port mode. The options are Output Only , Bi-Directional, EPP , and ECP . DMA Channel This setting allows you to specify the DMA channel for the parallel port . The options are DMA1 and DMA3.
4-18 C2SB C-Q User's Manual Low – This level is considered as the ‘normal’ operating state. The CPU temperature is well below the CPU ‘T emperature T olerance’. The motherboard fans and CPU will run normally as congured in the BIOS (Fan Speed Control).
Chapter 4: BIOS 4-19 Supermicro has leveraged this feature by assi gning a tempera ture sta tus to certain thermal conditions in the processor (Low , Medium and High). This makes it easier for the user to understand the CPU’s temperature status, rather than by just simply seeing a temperature reading (i.
