1. Safety in struc tions » These safety in struc tions ap ply to all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip ment. Please in form all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip ment of the di rect and in di rect haz ards con nected with the equip ment.
1.1. Warn ings and sym bols The fol low ing warn ings and sym bols are used in these op er at ing in struc tions: » This sym bol in di cates dan ger to life! Fa tal or se ri ous in jury is pos si ble if the cor re spond ing in struc t ions, reg u la tions or warn ings are not ob served.
1.2. Ex pla na tions and in for ma tion Var i ous terms and des ig na tions are used fre quently in these op er at ing in struc - tions to en sure clar ity. There fore please note that the term s used in the text stand for the cor re spond ing ex pla na tions listed be low.
1.3. For your safety · The op er at ing per son nel of this equip ment must be at least 16 years old. · Please read these op er at ing in struc tions care fully be fore tak ing into op er a tion for the first time. Con tact us s hould ques tions arise.
· Do not mod ify, add other equip ment or change the de sign of the equip ment with - out the ap proval of the man u fac turer. · This equip ment is not suit able for food pro cess ing. · Please note that sound lev els ex ceed ing 85 db(A) may in t he long term dam age your health. Use the ap pro pri ate ear muffs. This avoids im pair ment of hear ing! · At tach ments not sup plied by Ster ling must be man u fac tured in ac cor dance with safety reg u la tion EN 294.
1.4. For the op er at ing safet y of the equip ment · Never change set tings if the con se quences are not pre cisely known. · Use only orig i nal Ster ling spare parts . · Please ob serve the m ain te nance sched ule. · Keep re cord of all main te nance and re pair work.
· Check the col lect ing con tainer for tight ness fol low ing each clean ing pro ce dure. · Make sure that the one-way restr ictor reg u la tion should not be changed. · The op er at ing in struc tions of the con nected ma chines must be f ol lowed.
2. In stal la tion in struc tions » These in stal la tion in struc tions are in tended for per sons with skills in elec tri cal and me chan i cal ar eas due to their train ing, ex pe ri ence and re ceived in struc t ions.

2.1. Trans port The unit is de liv ered as a com plete sub-assembly. Trans port t he unit on a pal let. Lift the unit only by the wall sup port flange (B) or by t he sep a ra tor con tainer (A) . Use only suit able lift ing gear (e.g. hoist ing crane or fork lift).
2.2. In stal la tion For in stal la tion, the wall sup port f lange (A) is used. F In stall the saf ety fil ter by m eans of four screws which guar an - tee a car ry ing ca pac ity of at least 100 kg (220 lbs.). In stall the safety fil ter in the suc tion tube di rectly be fore t he vac uum gen er a tor.
2.3. Com pressed air sup ply For op er a tion of the v alve, a com pressed-air sup ply (1/4 “) is needed. Check com pressed air pip ing for cor rect in stal la tion and as sem bly. Check fit tings, length and qual ity of the hose con nec tions for agree ment with r e - quire ments.
2.4. Elec tri cal con nec tion » The elec tri cal con nec tion may only be car ried out by trained per son nel. The reg u la tions of t he lo cal Elec tric ity Board mus t be ob - served. All work must be car ried out with t he unit dis con nected fr om volt age and pres sure sup ply.

3. Func tioning de scrip t ion » This func tion ing de scrip tion is in tended for all op er at ing per - son nel of the equip ment. Pre req ui site for this func tion ing de scrip tion is gen eral knowl - edge of con vey ing sys tems. En sure in each case that the op er at ing per son nel are suf fi - ciently in form ed.
3.1. Gen eral The safety fil ter is used to clean the vac uum air of the en tire sys tem and must be in stalled in ev ery mult i-location suc tion con veyor sys tem . A fil ter car tridge in side the safety fil ter sep a rates the vac uum air fr om the dust par ti cles flow ing along with it.
4. Putting into op er a tion » This chap ter is in tended for op er at ing per son nel. Pre req ui site for this chap ter is gen eral knowl edge of the op - er a tion of con vey ing sys tems. Also pre req ui site for this chap ter is that the f unc tion ing de - scrip tion has been read and un der stood.
4.1. Check ing the set tings of the con vey ing con trol The num ber and way of the set ting de pends on the con nected con vey ing con trol. This is a de scrip tion of two pos si bil i ties. Sur veil lance time This is safety fil ter mon i tor ing time be tween two cleanings.
5. Main te nance » This chap ter is in tended for per sons with skills in elec tri cal and me chan i cal ar eas due to their train ing, ex pe ri ence and re ceived in struc t ions.
L Dis con nect the equip ment f rom mains sup ply be fore start ing main te nance pro ce dures to en sure that it can not be switched on un in ten tion ally. Depressurize all com pressed air pip ing of the equip ment be - fore start ing main te nance work.
5.1. Main te nance in ter val s Daily: Check warn ing signs on equip ment for good leg i bil ity and com plete ness. Check the oil level in the oiler. Empty the wa ter sep a ra tor . Check op er at ing pres sure of the plant’s sup ply net work (5-6 bar (72-87 PSI) sys tem overpressure).
5.2. Clean col lect ing con tainer L For clean ing of the col lect ing con tainer, t he plant should be switched off. Open the tog gle-type fas ten - ers (C) on the sup port ( B). The col lect ing con tainer (A) turns down to gether with t he hold ing clamp.
5.3. Clean/re place fil ter car tridge » Stop the con vey ing pro ce dure. Switch off the con vey ing sys tem at the main switch. In ter rupt the mains sup ply. Set all com pressed-air lines at zero pres sure. & Clogged fil ter car tridges re duce con veyor per for mance.
In stall the fil ter car tridge in the sep a ra tor con tainer (C). In stall the sep a ra tor lid (A) on the sep a ra tor con tainer (C) . Mount the tight en ing strap (B) be tween the sep a ra tor lid (A) and the sep a ra tor con tainer (C).
