Replace the co ver , making sure all tabs on the cov er align with the battery compartment slots and pr ess down until the cover snaps into place.
2 Activate Y our Phone • If you pur chased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is pr obably activated and r eady to use. • If you r eceived y our phone in the mail, and it is a new Sprint account or a new phone number , your phone is designed to activ ate automatically when you first turn it on.

6 Messages Send a Message 1. Pr ess > Messaging . 2. Pr ess Send Message . 3. Select a r ecipient fr om the list or fr om the following options: • Go to Contacts to select a r ecipient fr om y our Contacts. (Qualifying Contacts entries must contain a phone number or an email address.

8 Set Up an Email Account 1. Pr ess > Web . 2. F rom the SprintWeb SM home page, select Messaging > Email . 3. Select Y ahoo! Mail , AOL & AIM Mail , or MSN Hotmail . 4. Use y our ke ypad to enter the r equired sign-in information for the selected pr ovider , such as user name, email address, or passwor d, and select Sign In .

10 Access the Download Menus 1. Pr ess > My Stuff . 2. Select a download category ( Games , Ringers , Screen Savers , or Applications ), and then select Get New . – or – Select Call T ones . (The browser will start and take you to the corr esponding download menu.

14 T urn Bluetooth On and Off 1. Pr ess > T ools > Bluetooth > On/Off . 2. Pr ess ON (left softkey) to enable Bluetooth. Press OFF (left softkey) to disable Bluetooth. Pair Bluetooth Devices 1. Pr ess > T ools > Bluetooth > Add New .

16 Y our Direct Connect Number Y our Sprint phone allows you two different options for your Direct Connect number : • Separate numbers ( DC Onl y) – Y our Dir ect Connect number is a unique number (not your wir eless number) . It is made up of thr ee sets of digits separ ated by asterisks (for example, 444*5555*111).

If y ou ar e saving the number in your Contacts, choose DC Only for the phone type.
18 Make and Answer Direct Connect Calls Make a Direct Connect Call 1. Use y our ke ypad to enter a Dir ect Connect number . • The Direct Connect number ma y be the ten-digit wir eless phone number of the person you ar e calling ( Mobile+DC ).

When the person your ar e contacting r eceives your call alert, that person can press the Dir ect Connect but ton to immediately begin talking to you.
20 Answer Direct Connect Calls When you receiv e a Dir ect Connect call, y ou hear an incoming tone or the phone vibr ates, depending on your settings. Y ou will see the Dir ect Connect number and the caller’s name (if av ailable) on y our scr een. Y ou ma y also hear the caller’s v oice thr ough the speakerphone.
