8 On handling the LCD screen • The LCD is manuf actured using high-precision technology . Y ou may , howe v er , see tiny b lac k points and/or bright points (red, blue , green) that continuously appear on the LCD . This is a nor mal result of the manuf acturing process and does not indicate a malfunction.

42 Initial Settings By using the Setup menu, y ou can make v arious adjustments to items such as picture and sound. Y ou can also set a language f or the subtitles and the Setup menu, among other things. F or details on each Setup menu item, see pages 42 to 47.

Setting up the Play er The picture and sound of a nearby TV , VCR, or r adio ma y be distor ted during playback. If this occurs, position the pla yer a wa y from the TV , VCR, or radio, or turn off the unit after removing the disc.
