11 Getting started Notes on alkaline bat teries • The battery remaining indicator may not display the correct infor mation and the power may shut off even if the battery remainin g indicator shows sufficient battery life remaining. • Do not mix new and old batteries.
12 Charging t ime This repres en ts the time re qui red to charge fully depleted Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries using the supplied battery charger in an environment where the ambient tem perature is 25°C (77°F). • Charging is c omplete in approximately six hours.

14 Number of images and battery life that can be recorded/ viewed The tables sho w the approximate number of images and the bat tery life that can be r ecorded/ viewed when you shoot images in normal mode with fully charged nick el-metal hydride batteries or new alkaline batteries at a temperature of 25°C (77°F).

50 • When you are shooting movies and you choose Multipoint AF , the distance to the center of the LCD screen is estimate d as an average, so the AF works ev en with a certain amount of vibration.
51 Advance d still image shoot ing Shooti ng t echniques When shooting with the subject at the edge of the frame, or when using Center AF , the camera may focus on the c enter instead of on the subject at the edge of the frame. In a case like t his, use AF lock to focus on the subject, and then recompos e the picture and s hoot.

87 Enjoyin g images on your computer • This software is compatible with the DirectX technology . “DirectX” must be installed before using. • A separate environment for operatin g the recording device is required in order to write to CD-R s. a T urn on your computer , and inse rt th e suppl ied C D- RO M into the CD-R OM drive.
