GB 46 The flash ra nge (approx.) The range of the fl ash depends on the ISO sensitiv ity and ape rture value. • Wh en attaching a 16-50 mm/F3.5-5.6 lens (supplied), the f lash may be bl ocked off for a wide angle. Move the focal length of the lens slightly more to the tele side , and shoot from a distance.
GB 47 Using t he re cord ing f uncti ons Selecting t he image size/rec ord setting The ima ge size deter mines the siz e of the im age file th at is recorded when you take an imag e. The larger the image size, the mo re detail will be reproduced when the image is pr inted on large fo rmat paper.
GB 48 Using the playb ack function s Viewing images on a TV To view images on th e camera using a TV, an HDMI cable (sold separatel y) and an HD TV equipped with an HDMI co nnector are required. • Use an HDMI micro jack on one end (for the ca mera), and a plug suitable for connecting your TV on the other end.

GB 71 Others Troubleshooting If you ex perien ce troub le with the cam era, try the foll owing solu tions. The battery pack cannot be installed. • When you insert the battery pack, use t he tip of the battery pack to push th e loc k leve r (pag e 13).
GB 72 The power turns off suddenly. • When the camera or battery pack is t oo warm, the camera d isplays a warning message and turns of f automatically to pr otect the camera. • I f you do not opera te the camera for given period o f time, the camera turns to power saving mode.
GB 73 Others Nothing i s displayed o n the LCD scree n when the power is tur ned on. • If you do not operate the camera for give n period of time, the camer a turns to power saving mode. To cancel the power save, operate the camera, s uch as pressing the shutter button halfway down.
GB 74 The flash take s too long to rechar ge. • The flash has been fired i n succession in a short period. When the flash has been fired in succession, the recharging process may take longer than usual to avoid over heating of the f lash. Shadows appear at the bottom of an i mage shot using the flash.
GB 75 Others Dots appear and remain on the LCD screen. • This is not a malfunction. These dots are not recor ded (page 76). The image is blurred. • The picture was taken in a dark location without the flash, resulting in camera-shake. The use of a tripod or the flash is recommended (page 45).
