You can select normal play (“ALL DISCS” for all discs or “1 DISC” for a disc or “ *” for all MP3 files in the folder on the disc), shuffle play (“ALL DISCS SHUF” or “1 DISC SHUF” or “ SHUF*”), or program play (“PGM”).
18 GB Transferring onto an USB device You can connect an optional USB device to the (USB) port on the unit and transfer music from a sound source (including connected audio components) to the USB device. The audio fo rmat of files transfe rred by this system is MP3.

21 GB Basic Oper ations Notes • Do not connect the system and the USB device through an USB hub . • When transferring from an AUDIO CD, the tracks are transferred as 128 kbps MP3 files. When transferring from an MP3 disc, MP3 files are t ransferred wi th the same bi t rate as the original MP3 files.
22 GB To remove the USB device Use the buttons on the unit for this operation. 1 Press to select the USB function. 2 Hold down x in stop mode until “ N O DEVICE” appears. 3 Remove the USB device. To erase audio files or fold ers from the USB device You can erase audio files or folders from the USB device.
23 GB Basic Oper ations • When the USB de vice is insert ed, the system reads all the files on th e USB device. If there are many folders or files on the USB device, i t may take a long time to finish reading the USB device. • Do not connect the system and the USB device through an USB hub .
24 GB Using optional audio components 1 Connect an optional audio component to th e unit. LBT-ZT4 only: Connect to the AUDIO INPUT jack on the unit using a stereo mini-plug cord (not supplied). Other models: Connect to the AUDIO INPUT L/R jacks on the unit using an audio cord (not supplied).

29 GB Other Operations Recording onto a tape — CD-TAPE Synchro Recording/Manual Recording/Sound Mix ing You can record on a TYPE I (norm al) tape in three ways: CD-TAPE Synchro Recor ding: You can record an entir e disc onto a tape.
30 GB Creating your own sound effect You can raise or lower the levels of specific frequency ranges or select the surround effect, and th en store the setting as “USER EQ” in the memory. Use the buttons on the unit for this operation. 1 Press PRESET EQ or GROOVE repeatedly to select the audio emphasis you want for your basic sound.
31 GB Other Operations Using the Timers The system offers three timer functions. You cannot activate both the Play Timer and the Recording Timer at the same time. If you use either with the Sleep Timer, the Sleep Timer has priority. You can fall asleep to music.
32 GB 6 Select the sound source or prepare the USB device. Play Timer Press ./> (RM-AMU006) or v / V (RM-AMU008) repe atedly until the sound source you want appears, and then press ENTER (RM-AMU006) or (RM-AMU008). The display shows the timer settings.

34 GB Starting play back takes more time than usual. • The f ollowing MP3 discs take a lon ger time to start playback. – a disc recorded w ith a complicated tree structure. – a disc recorded in multisession mode. – a disc that has not been finalized (a disc to which data can be added).
35 GB Others “OVER CURRENT” appears. • A problem has been detected with the level of electrical curre nt from the (USB) port. Turn off the system and remove the USB device from the (USB) port . Make sure t here is no problem with the USB device.
36 GB • The number of files in a folder has exceeded 999. • Files that are encrypted or protected by passwords, etc. cannot be played back. * This system supports FAT16 and FAT32, but some USB device may not support all of these FAT. 37 GB Others To change the AM tuning interval (except for European and Russian models) The AM tuning interval is factor y-preset to 9 kHz (or 10 kHz, for some areas). Yo u cannot change the AM tuning interval in Power Saving Mode. Use the buttons on the unit for this operation.
