If you are setting up a ZonePlayer 120/100, attach th e speakers. If you are setting up a ZonePlayer 90/80, connect it to an external amplifier .

Managing Z ones What Are Zo ne s? A zone is just another word for a room in your house —Sonos l ets you enjoy music in up to 3 2 rooms, inside or out. W e call them z ones because y ou can group r ooms together to play the same song in diff erent ro oms, or y ou can play a differen t song in every room.

Chapter 3: Managing Zones 3-3 Using the Desktop C ontroller Zones c an be managed from e ither the Zones pane or the Zones menu. 1. Fro m t he Zon es pane, highlight th e zone you want to link to another zone o r zone group. 2. Choose one o f the following options: •C l i c k Link Zone, or •F r o m t h e Zon es menu, select Link Zone .
Sonos Multi-Room Music S ystem User Guide 3-4 If you want to join all the zones in your house to this music queue, selec t All Zon es -Pa r t y Mo d e . All of y our ZonePlayers w ill then play the same music in synchrony until y ou drop the zones from the zone group.

Chapter 4: Managing and Playing Music 4-3 Managing Music F olders The Sono s Multi-Room Music Syst em can play music fr om any netw orked comput er or network-attached storage (NAS) de vice where you have shared music folders. During the setup process, y ou are guided through the process of accessing your shar ed music folders .

T o make another shared folder available to your S onos Multi-Ro om Music System, select Add N ew from the Selected Shared F olders screen. Y our n etwork will be scanned for shared f olders that your mu sic system is not currently accessing .

Select Music Index Updat e Time , and press OK . 5. Use the scroll wheel to select t he time you would like your music index to update each day , pressing OK after each entr y .

T o pl ay all songs by an a r tist, on an album, or in a genre, selec t what you’d like to play , and then select Play Now t o play the music now , or Add to Queue to add it to yo ur music queue.

Sonos connects directly to Last.fm so you can listen to Last.fm radio stations, create new stations, and use scrobbling to person alize your listen ing experience.
